Del Prete's spirit then causes Huff to search for his killer, but as his body rots, his reach into the world of the living grows progressively less effective. The bulk of the story analyzes the motivations of the usual assortment of greedy relatives, and -- to please fans -- Fulci throws in one of his obligatory zombie attacks in an unrelated nightmare sequence.
