Wagah is a village divided by the border of India and Pakistan, with each side belonging to a different nation. The border checkpoint in Wagah is closed each night, and the daily ceremony has become something of a celebratory gathering for the people of Wagah, as the citizens living on each side of the divide are given an opportunity to see one another and enjoy a reminder of what their community used to be. Filmmaker Supriyo Sen brought a camera crew to the village as the townspeople observed the common ritual of the closing of the border, and Wagah is a documentary offering a colorful portrait of a town whose spirit hasn't been crushed by their unusual circumstances. Wagah was an official selection at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
