I just looove the Cusacks. I think I have yet to see a John movie I didn't like, there's something about him that's just irresistible. Joan is always funny, she cracks me up. This movie was funny and I'm glad Tomei never really disappeared because she's amazing too. Duff was tota...( read more)lly funny too, what a surprise there. I liked it!

This is our generation's Dr. Strangelove, and like Dr. Strangelove, it isn't as funny now as it could possibly be in a few decades due to the fact that it is too close to painful reality. A must see for all citizens of the world.

In the 21st century corporate America will own everything. everything will be branded and sponsored...even War. With ads taken out on the backs of tanks, battles being billed as corporate extravaganzas, the restructuring of the world falls to technology and corporate structure....( read more) Layoffs will be real terminations if you get my drift.
Originally I thought this film was an updated version of Grosse Pointe Blank (another favorite), but it is so much more.
This film is being spoken of as political satire, but it is, in fact, the first attempt I have seen to put onto the screen some of my favorite genres of literature: Cyberpunk and Anti-consumerism. This movie is a shout out to some great authors like Neal Stephenson, Max Barry and William Gibson to name a few.
Taking shots at everything that our capitalist nation holds dear this farcical look through the eyes of big business running the world is absolutely brilliant.
The frenetic pacing, the fantastic characters, the shots fired at the media, politics, business, and sheer stupidity ring so true and strong...this movie is fantastic.
I understand why it didn't get raves. Quite frankly I don't know a lot of people that watch films of this nature much less read the books (or read period). Do you know what I mean when I say "dystopia?" Watch and learn...and laugh.
Brilliant performances by Cusack and Cusack, Kingsley, Aykroyd, Tomei, and even Duff to name a few.
Watch this movie with an open mind and realize how and who tries to keep it closed. Laugh, because this movie is hysterical.
While you are at it...check the scoville units because this one is on fire.

I thought War Inc. was a marvelous film. There are few things in this world, better then John Cusack, as a hit man. Only one film tops his outstanding performance, as Brand Hauser in this film. That would be the great Martin Q. Blank from Grosse Point Blank.
The cast in the mov...( read more)ie was very sharp. Have to love Dan Akroyd's cameo. Joan Cusack is a wonderfully talented actress. Her and John have such a great connection and work so well together, so I was thrilled to see her in this one. Marrisa Tomei has such a extensive flair for acting. It is always a joy to watch her transform into a character. I was also delighted to see Ben Kingsley in this. He is remarkable. I even have to give a nod to the pop princess Hillary Duff. She was actually tolerable in this. Kudos to Joshua Seftel for this story and cast.
This film has some killer action sequences, a good dose of epinephrine. It also has a good soundtrack. Thumbs up for this one. War Inc. is a must see.

John and Joan are once again awesome, there isnt anything they do, that I dont love. Kingsley, Tomei and Aykroyd are also great, but I just wasnt buying Hilary as a hooch or that terrible accent.

although most wont get the humor in this one, I found it quite amusing. politica...( read more)l satire at its best, as someone I know put it.

a strange satire about the money and media in war... there are used some very good ideas and to my surprise h. duff is no miscast. j. cusack plays a similar role we love from 'grosse point blank', but when you come to the second half the plot becomes more and more disordered and ...( read more)i got distracted...

Odd parody/satire. All about propaganda. Quirky is the best word I can use to describe.
  • September 17, 2009
I thought it was pretty interesting in the realms of political satire.

And Hilary Duff was HOTT. Seriously. double-T hot.

I laughed so hard in the theater, I started crying. I could do without Hilary Duff (was she the only actress out of rehab when they filmed?) but the rest of the movie was funny and timely and sad and true. LOVED IT!

I MUST WATCH IT. John Cusack basically plays a Martin Blank who never went to his high school reunion? I'm sold. The trailer hints at an unfortunate overuse of fish-bowl lenses, but I'll wait 'til I see the film before judging it.
