I just watched the Youtube version of We AreThe Strange. Well, it took a couple of days, cause I couldn't stand it after a few minutes, had to shut it down, only to come back to it after a few hours, and watch a few more minutes. I discovered that Youtube starts the movie up whe...( read more)re you left off, even if you are gone a day or two. Cool. I kept watching it cause I am interested in what other animators are doing, And it has some strange attraction, you are not really sure of what's going on but for some strange reason, you want to see more, maybe you can figure it out if you watch a bit more.
Well, it did end in a fairly clear and satisifying way, and it was very different visually, so over all I would say it was worth watching, maybe even worth going back and seeing again to see if it makes more sense the second time. It is kind of a nightmare/stream of consciousness disjointed movie.Very Stange!

I'm up for just about every kind of weird there is, or at least willing to suspend disbelief, and give the benefit of the doubt to most anything, as a rule. But few times have I sat down to watch something and got the impression that the person makin...(read more) g it had actual...( read more), serious emotional problems or was completely dedicated to making this the firstimpression. Director, M. dot Strange, is unrelentingly in sporadically juvenille agression and crude absurdism, like Aqua Teen Hunger Force trying to seem dark and confrontational. At least for me it evoked more pitty than anything else. There's a difference between aesthetic and content, and aesthetically this was completely unique, but the unwavering bleak but otherwise incoherent content drains most of the pleasure out the viewing experience.

The animation was unlike anything I had ever seen, like watching someone else playing video games during the lowest most paranoid point of a drug binge. I may watch it again one day, it's an absolutely unique kinda visionary work, but I'll have to get the bad taste of crude loathing and fractured babble out of my mouth first. I can't say I enjoyed it, but it was a unique experience, which made good on it's title. Imagine David Lynch's "Dumbland" shot through a playstation, and youre close to whatever this movie is...

I need to see more Str8nime. It's like a nightmare torn from one part Bump in the Night, one part Reboot, and one part Sega Genesis, with awesome music. Positively mind-blowing and insane.

This movie is amazing! although for some this movie does not do very much, the right audience knows exactly how to appreciate it! Cool concept. A lot of visual aspects to the film. A little slow simply because there was no speaking for several minutes at a time.

Why have you NOT seen this film yet?!? The most creative filmmaking I have seen in centuries. See it!!
