Plumbing new depths in vulgarity and tastelessness, "Wedding Crashers" is a tiresome compilation of recent American guy-girl movie clichés. The acting is poor and the script worse, making the cinema seat harder as each long minute goes by. Of course the audience lapped it all up, guffawing at each sophomoric gag. How depressing to see that this awful movie is #1 at the box office. Good cinematography doesn't rescue it. We squirm seeing Christopher Walken and Jane Seymour repeatedly embarrassing themselves. We yawn at Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson lurching from unbelievable "I love ya Buddy" male bonding to predatory joint hunting of generic society chicks. Compared with the finer acting and script of now-running "Must Love Dogs", the winner of the toilet humor, bad language, degrade women and insult gays genre is undoubtedly "Wedding Crashers". Insatiable public appetite for this rubbish will ensure that we soon might see even worse movies, if that is possible. 2 1/2 stars 8-14-07

For a generic hollywood comedy, Wedding Crashers is actually a cut above most films of it's kind. However mentioning that isn't really saying much. What makes it work is the chemistry of Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. but if the appropriate casting of these talented comedians never took place I feel strongly that it would have been a totally un-funny, hugely misfired disaster. But there's just something about watching those two mess about, go wild and argue with eachother over the little things in life that really makes you want to laugh out loud. But that alone can't really save the film in it's entirety. The script of this film is dissapointingly average and terribly overlong. It's not a very well structured comedy and sometimes feel's very improvised. It's easy to admire it, all in due to the fact it has plenty of comedic ambitions. There's a hugely successful attempt at being a classy, high end, sophisticated comedy and it perfectly balances raunch with sweetness which is very hard to do, but it's plot is a mess and it's overlong and you leave feeling you haven't come to know the two great lead's characters. It doesn't help that it's pretty forgettable and completely empty. But ultimately it's the fact that Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are in the movie itself that thankfully saves it, and it's quite enjoyable while it lasts. Which is a while. It's very unevenly crafted, but it's still reasonably and strangely satisfying fun.

It has some serious flaws and some bits just aren't funny (the rape scene, the gay brother), also Vince is such an ass he doesn't ring true. However, it is a dumb comedy, and if judged as such, was not too bad. It has a few funny parts and I like Isla fisher's crazy character. Also Rachel McAdams is good, as always. The guys are a little old for these girls, but that's another flaw.

Stupidly formulaic rom-com full of two dimensional characters. You've got your sensitive guy, your engaged leading female who's not-so-sure about her arrangement and your jerk rival to-be-husband who's a big "bad guy". Complete stranger comes swooping out of no where and "liberates" her from a woeful marriage? Please.
Ugh, just too damn "perfectly" sweet and fake. For what adequate entertainment value it has in the humor department it has even less to offer in emotional depth and character complexities.

The concept here is brilliant and the cast is good too, Wilson and Vaughn are funny guys, but after the first 30mins it just loses the plot and becomes your average silly toilet humour flick. A shame as the jerk off under the table scene is just perfect haha.

I've sort of been meaning to give this one a shot for years and finally got a chance to see it recently. Wedding Crashers is definitely not an original comedy by any means, but it's definitely a filthy one and at times can be very funny. I think the main turn-off for me was that it starts out as a whacky comedy about two guys who like to crash weddings and how their relationship works but quickly decends into a love story. Now don't get me wrong here. I like romantic comedies when they're done well and with some substance, but this one is so cliche'd and predictable that I quickly found it boring. It really drags in both the second and third acts, and even being unrated doesn't help it very much. I thought that Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson were pretty well cast and had some nice chemistry, but the overall package just feels weak. It's good for a late night rent but it's nowhere near worth the hype that surrounds it.

I felt that Wedding Crashers was a very sloppy comedy. You a good actor (Christopher Walken) and a good actress (Jane Seymour) in this film that after multiple viewing, really doesn't stand out. The main characters are played by Vince Vaughn, whom I hate and who only has one good film under his belt, and Owen Wilson. They could've picked a better set actor here. The film isn't funny really, and I felt like the film tried too hard. Will Ferrell's cameo is pretty funny however. But Wedding Crashes that even though you have Walken in the film, and he is probably the only funny actor here along with Will Ferrell. Unfortunately the film doesn't stand out as a great comedy. The banality of the film is really what makes it forgettable. After the first two viewings, Wedding Crashes humor really becomes old fast. You end up finding the characters annoying, but in my case, luckily that Christopher Walken is one of my favs, He always made me smile. Unlike The Hangover or Tropic Thunder, which are very funny; Wedding Crashers just doesn't hold up and that's why this film doesn't stand out as great comedy. Wedding Crashers has its funny moments, but after a while, the film wasn't funny anymore. This is the type of film, for me anyways that doesn't really stand above other comedies. The film was funny the first two times I saw it, but it just got tiresome after a while. Considering that since then, there have been better comedy films; Wedding Crasher is easily forgettable.

Divorce mediators John Beckwith and Jeremy Grey are business partners and lifelong friends who share one truly unique springtime hobby--crashing weddings! Whatever the ethnicity of the wedding party--Jewish, Italian, Irish, Chinese, Hindu--the charismatic and charming duo always have clever back stories for inquisitive guests and inevitably become the hit of every reception, where they strictly adhere to their proven rules of wedding crashing to meet and pick up women aroused by the very thought of marriage. At the tail end of another successful season of toasting brides and grooms, Jeremy learns that the daughter of Treasury Secretary William Cleary and his wife, Kathleen, is getting married in what is sure to be the Washington D.C. social event of the year. After infiltrating the lavish affair, John and Jeremy quickly set their sights on two bridesmaids, Claire and Gloria Cleary. With the lavish reception in full swing, Jeremy works his game plan to perfection in seducing Gloria, but John's flirtation banter with Claire is unexpectedly impeded by her pompous, Ivy League boyfriend Sack. A very funny comedy that invests more in odd situations than in punch line gags. Vince Vaughn puts in a magnetic performance, while Will Ferrell is priceless, but the film is about thirty minutes longer than it should be, dragging a little in the third act.
