Weekend at Bernie's II
When they discover that their deceased boss had stashed away two million illegally embezzled dollars in a Caribbean safe deposit box, two co-workers decide to claim the cash. To do so, however, they must convince everyone the boss is actually alive -- a situation which seems oddly familiar to them both. Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"A mildly diverting farcical caper."
‑ David Rooney, Variety
"If the premise of the first film was mindless and repetitive, it's doubly so this second time around."
‑ Hal Hinson, Washington Post
"Bernie himself is the only sign of life."
‑ Michael Brody, CinemaBlend.com
"Just as the lead characters try to squeeze more use out of a rotting corpse, so do the filmmakers from this tired premise."
‑ Brian Mckay, eFilmCritic.com
"A few of the gags work, though many of the jokes that were not funny in the first film are trying again and failing again in the second."
‑ Mark R. Leeper, rec.arts.movies.reviews
"Through it all, Mr. Kiser, who says not a word, exudes the foolish amiability of a partygoer who is beyond plotzed and is living in a private world of his own."
‑ Stephen Holden, New York Times
"At the film's conclusion, unfortunately, Bernie is still a fully animate zombie, leaving open the possibility of a third weekend."
‑ , TV Guide's Movie Guide
"Frankly I'm stunned that every American who paid to see it didn't file a class action suit against Tri-Star Pictures for their blatant misrepresentation of the word "comedy"."
‑ Scott Weinberg, eFilmCritic.com
"At times funny, but more often stupid."
‑ Steven Snyder, Greater Milwaukee Today
"At one point Bernie is shown dancing under the sea, an accurate metaphor for the film itself -- which is also dead in the water."
‑ Chris Hicks, Deseret News, Salt Lake City
"I find it hard to believe that many people will pay $6 or $7 to see a picture that has TV sitcom production values, writing, and acting."
‑ James Berardinelli, ReelViews
"Why would anyone want to be caught dead with Bernie and his banal buddies a second time around? Relentlessly labored and pointless"
‑ Frank Ochieng, TheWorldJournal.com
"Sad sequel to a surprisingly clever dark comedy. The voodoo curse is pointless, and all the funny death moments were used up in teh first one."
‑ Fred Topel, About.com
"Once wasn't enough?"
‑ Ken Hanke, Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC)
"Let's just hope that this projected series of films (and I use the term loosely) dies a quiet, unremarked-upon death unlike that of its title character."
‑ Marc Savlov, Austin Chronicle
