One for the trailer made it look much better category. It's a mix of Blair witch project and Turistas (Paradise lost). Told in hand held cam format as two couples head into the jungle looking for a long lost heir to the Rockefeller fortune. Very slow to start and quite bleak, by ...( read more)the end you don't care what happens to them. Only gets gory for the last 15 mins or more. One for camcorder horror fans only really.

I do give Welcome to the Jungle major credit for trying to breathe life back into the cannibal genre. Unfortunately, the problem with said genre is the plot possibilities are extemely limited, and everything worthwhile about Welcome to the Jungle has already been done by better ...( read more)films. This wouldn't be a problem (most slasher flicks share the same plot, after all), if Welcome wasn't missing the one staple that makes the cannibal genre stand out in the first place - heinous, sadistic torture and gore. Whether this is due to a lack of budget, creativity, or courage, the film suffers because of it and ends up feeling like a poorly made ripoff. However, Welcome strikes me less as a movie shamelessly swiping its predecessors' thunder, and more as an attempt to revive a dead genre and pay homage to cult classics. There's no harm in cannibal fans giving this one a try.

Another one of those handheld camera adventures...but it wasn't as bad actually. The story, well the lack there of was terrible but the overall execution was ok. Weird gruesome adventure but in a way somewhat believable, there are lots of tribes that we don't know nothing about. ...( read more)Not too bad...

The story follows two young couples who head into the New Guinea wilderness in an effort to find Michael Rockefeller, the heir to the Rockefeller fortune who disappeared in 1961.

I had set my expectations pretty low...but man did I not expect it to be this bad. The DVD cover was beaming with reviews, stating it was 'Quite possibly the most terrifying film of the last decade'...this film is anything but.

It all starts at the first frame. Not only throughout the film is it technically flawed (we are meant to get the effect of hand held style on a handicam, yet each person has professional steadicam experience and the cameras quality is top notch...and how many times was there a 5th person holding the camera when there was meant to be 4?), we are introduced to 4 of the most immature, inhuman characters you will ever see grace the screen for many years to come. Alongside some atrocious and unrealistic dialogue, the actors deliver so horribly that I could never even believe that they were trying to act normal. From there the film runs at a mere 80 minutes, yet for 60 of them, we are slowly dragged through there journey towards there destination and we encounter more of there dull personalities and even some unbelievable over the top moments when the characters fight...and what was up with the missionaries and the characters horrible attitude towards them?

By the time we have endured that hour, we couldn't care less about anything that is going on and even when you get a damn decent shot or two of the gore, I never felt my excitement rise above nothing. Another horrible film to hold great reviews all over its cover, Welcome To The Jungle is unbelievably bare and dull on every single level

Four twentysomethings come up with a get rich plan and head to New Guinea to find Michael Rockefeller, the son of a vice-president who disappeared in the 60's. All of the cameras are ran by the kids themselves and apparently someone finds the footage which is what you are watchin...( read more)g. Sound familiar? Well that's because this is actually a loose remake of Cannibal Holocaust sans the animal killings.
I enjoyed the last 30 minutes but you have to endure the preceding 60 with the cast acting like they're on MTV's 'The Real World'; they bitch, whine, insult each other, throw tantrums and then die gruesome deaths just like the show--well, except the dying part, unfortunately.

Just when I thought I was safe from bad movies( after watching "One Missed Call" I find this little gem that would make Ed Wood Proud! I mean this movie does not even belong In a MST3K episode. It is so bad that you cannot even riff on it. The story of course if you read the sypn...( read more)osys follows two couples in search for the whereabouts of MIchale Rockafeller. You spend and hour and 15 minutes watching these idiots arguing about not waking up on time to continue the"trek" or about who is screwing who. and just when you think the movie starts to pick up pace....guess what?...ITS OVER! Credits roll end of movie. IT is a disapointment. Specially since the producer is Gale Ann Hurd who produced classic films like Terminator. But then again she brought us Armageddon. But I dont blame her for that one. I blame Michael bay and Now director and TV show Creator JJ Abrams for that fiasko. Giving this movie Half a star is actually me neing kind. There were some gory moments but not enough for me to recomend. If you are going to make a movie about cannibalism..DONT WAIT TILL THE END! I am done.

What the hell was this bulls***! THIS was supposed to be to new Cannibal Holocaust of the new millenium. Was it hell! It was literally bored for 30 minjs waiting for a bloody gorefest which I didn't get. Word of advice to the filmmakers of this: If you are going to try and top Ca...( read more)nnibal Holocaust, make sure you include the landmark gore that the original had. If you can't do that, don't make the movie. I did expect better from the director of The Punisher and Gale Anne Hurd who produced great movies like Aliens, and Terminator produced this bunch of crap is beyond me why she did it. all this film really was is teenagers bickering at each other while being watched by cannibals. How stupid can they be? Eventually when they are caught, you don't really care for any of them and as they die, you kind of feel like they deserve it and the gore factor doesn't even match that of Cannibal Holocaust so what was the point of making this?

It takes an hour before any action happens and by that time I was really bored. I mean at least in cannibal Holocaust they had a reason for being up there as they were filming a documentry for TV, in this film though it's just a bunch of teenagers following up some myth which leads them into real danger that being a case of curiousity killed the human.
The only good thing about this film was how they took the infamous woman on a stake and re-invented it for this movie. That all I can say was good about this movie. A total waste of 75 mins.

Dark, creepy movie shot in the handheld style. One of the better takes on this. I ended up feeling pretty creepy by the end. Took way too long to get there and the actors were super annoying.

This movie is bad, there was no plot besides the people acting like lambs going to slaughter. It was really a waste of time and money. It also demonstrates just how dumb people are who aimlessly go roaming around in another country without any knowledge or reason. It was nothing but a bloody bunch of body parts and a roaming camera in the way.

The movie was awful there was no point it was one of the worst movies that I've ever seen. It took an hour and a half for someone to die and when they did it sucked. It was a long waste of time and if you are thinking about getting it dont it is a waste of money.
