The first few minutes played out like a trailer, and I was wondering if I had wandered into the wrong auditorium... anyway, the premise reminded me of a lil' movie called Sour Grapes, only with the whole marriage thing tossed in for [apparent] good measure. And by that, you know how the whole movie plays out, so what's the point of watching it? Just to see bickering between immature Ashton and didn't-age-well Cameron. But I do feel guilty for laughing at a few parts... >_<
Bottom line: Go see Forgetting Sarah Marshall... see it again, if you have to!
I was able to watch this movie onboard the SUPERCAT fast craft from Ormoc City to Cebu early this month, and I was really entertained with a capital "E". I forgot that I wanted to sleep during the 2-hour boat trip. This romantic-comedy movie stars Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher. They look good together, really. Cute funny couple. Cameron was dumped by her boyfriend, while Ashton got fired from his work. They both decided to have fun in Vegas, to forget their misfortunes. And so they did...
Set in the Sin City, the story revolved around these two people who discovered that they've gotten married following a night of debauchery. Just as they were about to call it quits and separate ways, Ashton won a huge jackpot ($3M) after playing Cameron's quarter. Left with no choice but to stick together, the unhappy pair tried to undermine each other and get their hands on the money -- but with a twist of fate, they realized that they have fallen in love along the way.
Absolutely hilarious !! Cameron and Ashton both did a great job in this one.. However the ending was kind of too typical for me, a bit lame actually,
could have been better.. I mean for one thing not having Ashton's character suddenly become so compassionate and all because honestly I didn't buy it and I don't think anyone can !!
Still it was really fun to watch ..
this movie was the cliche romance movie about marriage, but it had added laughs that made up for the hackneyed plot. i really liked cameron diaz and ashton kutcher together in this movie, they were cute.
If that is what happens in Vegas I wanna go AGAIN. Was way too young to be in Vegas when I went the first time, though it was right after a heart break that I was there, yet I did not get a catch like Jack or else life would have been so much better.
It was all predictable, typical and regular.. but there was the charm, the chemistry and the romantic comedy to keep it going.
I dont know if you'll like it, but I did.
Funny! I laughed pretty much the whole way through. Stupid place stopped it before the outtakes at the end but im willing to watch it again on DVD to see it.
i cud describe this movie with one word: cliche. i laughed and it was good for a while, but you know what's gonna happen from th start, i felt like i threw my $$ to the garbage, i wud recommend to rent it on dvd on a lazy sunday, not the theaters
i just love ashton kutcher and their chemistry is hot! the story is simple but it gave way for the movie to showcase the undeniable chemistry of the 2.
The stroy starts when Joy prepares a surprise party to her fiance, Mason, at he`s house. But it comes up that the surprise is recieved by her, cause Mason tells her he doesnt want to get married.
On the other hand we have Jack, who works making furniture, he`s dad is his boss and he gets fired by him.
The turning point of the story is when both decide to go to Las Vegas, each on their side, with the best friends.
They end up meeting when at the hotel the accidentally gave the key to the same room to both groups.
And after a really wild night, Jack and Joy wake up discovering they just got married.
The comedy starts when they have a serious talk about how that was a nonsense and they have to get divorce. But the trick is that they were playing at a machine while talking and boom! They win a price of $3,000,000,00.
Now a judge resolutes that in order to have this money, they will have to make the marriage work.
Two strangers, 3 millions, funny story of two people that try to hate each other that much, that end up falling in love.
This movie was a bit of a surprise. It was a bit predictable, but it was moderatley funny. What really saves it is the fact that both Kelso err Kutcher and Diaz are so good and so likeable and so funny. I dont think this movie would have been half as good if it was Kate Hudson/Mcconaughey or another typical RomCom couple.
This movie was predictable, simple and ordinary, but in some odd way i thoroughlly enjoyed it. It was funny yet it was suprisingly touching and romantic all at the same time.Ashton Kutcher seems to be maid for this type of role, as he did the same type deal in Just Married. Diaz and Kutcher have great onscreen chemistry and it really brings there roles new life. Not the greatest of scripts , and not the best romantic comedy in the past decade,and sure it was riddled with cliches, but it was enjoyable none the less , a good movie for watching to get yourself out of a slump.
With a huge question mark as story, the movie is trying to create funny and interesting situations, but if you think a little when watching a movie, you can't stop asking how did that happen?!... I didn't enjoy it at all, even for having fun.
