The film is very interesting (crazy), not necessarily for all the "information" that it gives (most of it is crap for me) but for the point of view itself.
Just like the religious view is based on faith, this information is based in "science", a 'pseudo'-science which most of us don't understand (like faith), in fact, we are not really interesting in understanding all of it, but still it's always good to see what they have to say.
I really think that people should watch this movie, not expecting to change completely the way of how we see the life and the environment that surround us, or looking forward for the movie that will finally open our eyes with an amount of truth that we won't be able to assimilate... this is not the purpose of the movie, I think that it invites us to the discussion of certain theories which several people take very serious (just like religion, agnosticism, atheism, etc.), but not being so radical and extremist with our ideas, it would be able to contribute to our life-style and the way we confront the problems and live, which is very useful no matter the means to do it.
That effort is worth to watch, either to destroy its hypothesis in a debate or to change our daily experiences.
Quite interesting. Some of the editing seemed pretty random, especially when they start talking about God for the second and third time. Some of the 'logic' seemed to make no sense to me, and when I looked it up apparently it was all 'hogwash,' so I guess it wasn't just me. Would have been much cooler if the entire scientific community didn't consider it to be pseudoscience, but it still gives you another way to look at the world and that's very important.
Seriously. This is a retarded movie/documentary. First off the movie part is horribly acted and written. It is just dumb and I felt nothing for the characters. The documentary part is appalling because they interview all of these people who are saying that reality isn't real and all this crap. They never tell you who these people are that they are interviewing. Just because you have a balding white hared man who is sitting in an office full of books doesn't mean I'm going to listen to him. For all I know he is a crack head that these filmmakers pulled off the street. I am sorry but just because you put some computer graphics in your film that are kind of pretty, doesn't mean I am going to fall for the bullshit it is preaching. OMG I just realized... this film is like going to church.
A surprisingly interesting movie/documentary on quantum physics. (I never thought I'd use the words "interesting" and "quantum physics" in the same sentence)
interesting. i wish they added some c.g. jung, joesph campbell & robert anton wilson to help depict how we map out reality. i also wish it was more scientific. you know more case studies blah blah but very cool none the less.
This is an interesting movie, if you are into philosophy and quantum physics, which I am. I thought it was an interesting way to portray the science in a way a normal person can almost grasp. It makes you think.
A portrayal of life & the universe based on the principles of physics & philosophy. Abstract thinkers will love this. However, I hesitate to recommend it. It's highly thought-provoking and there were some moments of genius, but a little too much metaphysical mumbo-jumbo for my taste. It didn't provide much scientific substance. In fact it leaves you more confused about what reality is than when you went in. But that seems to have been the intention.
Someone should have pointed out: The macroscopic world we live in does not obey quantum mechanical laws. It's fun to pretend it could but it doesn't. Just subatomic particles.
The theatrical cut of this movie is but a taste. If it stirs your interest, then you must rent/buy the extended version which includes hours of additional footage including interviews, graphical explanations, and dramatic sequences. A nice introductory documentary to the world of quantum physics. Must see for anyone interested in science or philosophy, even if you are familiar with the topics, as the interviewees are fantastic and inject an enthusiastic quality to work as a successful facade for what is essentially a mashed-up (and atypically amusing) lecture.
Fairly interesting scientific discussion turns into the most blatant advertisement for some new-age cult. good one, idiots. way to twist the words of scientists.
This is a very interesting movie, but I've always had a fascination for scientific exploration. Psychology and quantum physics meet to explain the functions of the brain.
Fairly pretentious bunch of people babbling mostly what sounded like brainwashing bullshit. Some of it I did find fascinating and thought provoking but some of these new age drivel annoys the shit out of me.
I honestly can't be bothered about these things. I don't see the point in it, atleast there's nothing it for me whether I buy into it or not. Maybe I'm not intelligent enough, but that's fine with me. I prefer things the way they are.
Interesting topic, but poorly made. It wasn't entertaining at all, and so many themes just kept hanging over, confusing even more the audience. And, I just hate when you think it's going to end (mostly for the conclusion mood and slow pacing), but it never does!! I kept thinking "ok, it's going to end right here", but it don't. And they did that like 20 times in less than 20 minutes. Boring and unremarkable, that's my opinion.
What a raging, hideous, steaming pile of horse shit this thing was. Complete and utter New Age drivel. One of the supposed "experts" talking was RAMTHA (as channeled by this lady).. the spirit of RAMTHA was being "channeled" and passed off as an expert on the field of counsiciousness. HAHAHAH !!!!! This is one for the HATE LIST. WHat a fucking nightmare. I feel sad for people who buy into this waste of time. They might say that Im not "enlighted" enough to understand. HA. Ya I get it, and your NEW AGE fucking sad brainwashing bullshit vomitorium. Tell ya what.. you sit around and think happy thoughts, channel some spirits from another plane of existence while Im over here laughing at your moronic ass. SAD.
Okay, wtf. About half of this movie made sense to me, but that could have been the drugs... haha. I barely paid attention to the first half of this movie, but the second half made alot of sense... especially the part about brain connection thingers. But I should watch this movie again...
A mind opening flick. Surely will change your views on MANY things. Great to see the truth put out there in an easy to understand flick. Gotta see the sequel...
The concepts of this documentary type film are GREAT! The reality falls flat because they insist upon talking down to you, via Marlee Matlin emoting her way through every concept presented.
I don't have a problem with Marlee Matlin. I like most of her work and Children of a Lesser God is one of my favorite flicks! I DO have a problem with eggheads who credit me with having an IQ equivilent to that of a cinder block so I MUST be unable to process these concepts they are addressing to me without THEIR interpretation and visualization emoted by Marlee Matlin.
I can see giving this a 4.5 star or even 5 star rating if they had given me some credit for being able to creatively visualize FOR MYSELF the principles they are promoting. But the way this feels... like they are talking down to me, well it's like a HUGE sign directed at me that states, "Yeah, we know you are a colossal DUMBASS but we're feeling generous with our minds and our thoughts, ideas and beliefs so we thought we'd share them here, with you. We're SO generous of spirit that we've even made it easy for you, by having an actress emote all the concepts we address. You won't even have to tax your imaginative capabilities (assuming you actually have any) because we've done it all for you. Isn't that GREAT? Isn't that GENEROUS of us?"
In a word, NO! I'm going to read the book, where I don't have to have someone else's concept of these ideas shoved down my throat like it's a day old doughnut and I'm a homeless person who hasn't eaten in days! "Here! Swallow this DAMMIT! You'll like it! It's GOOD for you!"
Again, NO THANKS!!!
If you choose to watch this, keep the remote handy as you may want to fast forward or skip the emoting segments. They may piss you off more than illustrate anything to you.
I DIDN'T REALLY LEARN ANYTHING THAT I WAS NOT ALREADY AWARE OF BUT IT WAS NICE TO HEAR ALL IN ONE MOVIE. EVERYONE SHOULD MAKE THE TIME TO VIEW THIS FILM.
