MCT:July 17, 2008wow i have just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is an ok movie 2 see..its pretty good life story/tale of the rock star tina turner..i think that the director of this Drama, Musical & Performing Arts movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie because theres shocks,twists,turns throughout this movie...i think that in this movie Angela Bassett really knew how 2 play tina turner cuz she plays the part of her in the movie really well n that i think that laurence fishbourne is brilliant throughout this movie..i think that this is a shocking story/tale but its quite interesting to see the rough n tough lifestyle of tina turner..she has made some good songs throguhout her time in the music business...this is a good showbiz biopic that includes laughs, tears, good music, n the costumes throughout the movie..laurence fishbourne is great as the musical partner/Svengali Ike in this movie n Angela Bassett was great as tina turner

MCT:July 10, 2008I cannot say how many times I have seen this movie, however it gets easier to watch every time I see it. I am glad it is based on a true story to show that there is hope for victims of domestic violence- if they choose to fight back!

Angela bassett and Laurence Fishburne do Tina Turner justice in this true story. Think all the emotions Anger, happiness, Sadness!! Its all in this film! Definitely one to watch if you haven't seen it!!

Angela Bassett is amazing in this role, which is saying a lot considering whose shoes she had to fill. Miss Turner is truly one of my heroes. I find her life story to be one filled with inspiration and this film presents it with reverence and honor.

What a biopic should be. Give you insight into a life you are familiar with but know little about. I can't remember who won the Oscar that year, but I remember rooting for Angela Bassett. She hasn't come close to this performance since.
And who didn't love to hate Laurence/Larry/Whatever Fishburne as Ike.
"IDA MAY, HAVE SOME CAKE"
Overall, great biopic. -

I know I shouldn't have laughed at such a thing but when Ike took off his boot to beat Tina, I lost it.
It wasn't enough that he was beating her with his hands, he had to inflict more damage by using his boot.
Fortunately Tina rose above all that and became a bigger star than that asshole. -

Very graphic, emotionally moving account of Tina Turner's singing career and abusive relationship with Ike Turner. This lady is brilliant, classy,& extremely talented and I've always admired her so much. She should have those legs insured by Lloyd's of London !! Angela Bassett scores 5 stars for her performance!

I love the music and the songs, but the way her husband traething her, that's wrong, he can't do that to his own wife, but i love the part where she fights back and he had it comeing, and i love the song "What's Love?", it came out the year where my sister is born, I love that song and "I dont' wanna fight no more" Tia Turner YOU ROCK!!! =3

MCT:September 11, 2007On this film, Tina is always good, she always looks the best for all her people: she takes care of her husband's the last relationship kids, she says "keep the change" when she buys donuts, she always has a smile for the others, and she even mixes this bounty with foolishness such as her relationship with her mother and, of course, her husband who is a total monster. With this kind of characters so unreal, so exagerated, who are also part of an racist way of seeing black people, we never feel we saw Tina's life. We never (or at least I) understand what does she saw on Ike because he never stops being the bad guy. And the film about "Tina's life" is really a story about the beating she recieved.
Con decirles que ni a la misma Tina le gustó, aunque Basset para mí es una muy buena actriz y aquí lo demuestra, sentí que vi una pelìcula inferior, n siquiera la ambientación y la buena música me hicieron darle más de dos estrellas. -
