One night he goes to a pub and meets Trudy (Flora Montgomery), an outgoing, lively woman who is his complete and utter opposite. Against all odds, Brendan asks her out, and although their first date is disastrous, they gradually form an unlikely relationship. But Brendan is hesitant to completely trust Trudy; not only does she go out at all hours of the night, there are also news reports of a woman in a black balaclava who has been castrating local men. Naturally, Brendan's already festering suspicion takes little time to explode into a paranoid frenzy, and hijinks ensue. ~ Rebecca Flint Marx, Rovi

Critic Reviews
-
Peter Howell, Toronto Star
Getting all the film references means you have to be a bit of a film buff yourself, but it's not essential to the enjoyment of this lighthearted satire.
-
Jason Anderson, Globe and Mail
Doyle should have spent more time on the story and less time in the video store searching for inspiration.
-
Eric Harrison, Houston Chronicle
It feels churlish to complain about its borrowings from other films. But it feels insubstantial and redundant.
-
David Germain, Associated Press
Brendan and Trudy and company deliver a grand good time.
-
Misha Berson, Seattle Times
One of the smarter, more likable attempts at neo-screwball comedy to hit the screen in a while.
