armand assante does what he can best, but the story is uneven and the drama doesn't play out to the audience's expectations. a fair effort but really hard to live up to the hype of the book.

This was a remarkable movie. It introduced me to the man behand Nietzche's philosophy and the nascent world of pyschoanalysis.

If you think much and are interested in philosophy and are in trouble with your relationship, you will like the movie (but first you should be a man! its a mannish movie.)

great adaptation of the book!! fabulous idea of the director and Armand Assante performed his best character. I highly recommend it!
