Alex is befriended by two very different women: Sandy, a tough but good-hearted streetwalker who has aligned herself with a vicious pimp, and Susan, a college student finishing a graduate course in psychology. Susan gives Alex the strength to believe in himself, and he finds himself falling in love with her; however, he also becomes Sandy's benefactor and protector, which leads him into the dangerous world of pimping and the sex industry.
