    ehhh....
    pretty boring
  • July 11, 2009
A beautiful, amusing story that's only enhanced by the great song and dance numbers. I'm using a massive amount of restraint in not making some kind of remark about Bing Crosby's voice being able to melt ice or snow or what have you, but, well, I'm just not gonna.

I'm dreaming of a white christmas. This movie was a great musical with excellant performances by Danny Kaye,Bing Crosby, and Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen. Great christmas film, if you love musicals.
  • December 24, 2008
absolutely loved Rosemary Clooney. the rest of the film struck me as Holiday Inn meets Summer Stock. enjoyable and entertaining, particularly towards the end, but I felt it was just too much of a Golden Age Musical copycat and didn't strive enough for its own merits. a great m...( read more)ovie featuring some great performances, but it won't soon be at the top of my list of holiday favorites.

  • December 21, 2008
A movie that was kind of forced on me and I'm glad it was. It involves a couple of former GIs that are now song and dance men and the show the try to put on in a Vermont hotel that is owned by their delusional former commanding officer. It has plenty of classic songs and what I t...( read more)hink is Bing's best version of the title tune.

My ABSOLUTE favorite Christmas movie! Even if I didn't like it, I'd watch it just to hear Bing Crosby sing!
  • December 19, 2008
You have to like Bing Crosby and Danny Kay to watch this, one of my favorite Christmas movies.
  • December 17, 2008
Regarded as a classic, but its always regarded by people over 30. Watching it in the cinema with a bunch of old people was a lovely thing to do but the movie to me and im guessing my generation seems dated and slow, because it is. Its a christmas movie which is bareable once a ye...( read more)ar, but certainly doesnt hold up like the real old classics.

    i of my fav's films :)
  • December 13, 2008
The characters are annoying & the story is tedious. But at the end when they slide open those doors to let the snow flakes in, its pure Christmas magic... Luv DKaye always.
  • December 10, 2008
one of my favorite Chrismas Movies!
  • December 7, 2008
For a movie with "ChristmaS" in it's name, it's not exactly the main feature here. Instead we have a solid story, funny side characters, and some songs that will stick in your head right around that certain time of the year.
My only real complaint about this movie is that during...( read more) EVERY dance number Ellen would look at the camera, constantly. As if her eyes could go no where else.
Anyway Crosby and Kaye are the perfect pair and work just as well together as HE does with Bob Hope in the "Road To" movies and it's a shame they didn't make any more movies together. I also enjoyed Clooney's singing and Wickes is hysterical as always. And the touching ending with the General is great and works perfectly.
So it's a movie that's considered a Christmas movie, yet can basically be watched any time of the year.

"That's very funny. Ho, ho, ho. The crooner is becoming the comic."
  • December 7, 2008
I know most people prefer, Holiday Inn to this film, but I love it. Rosemary Clooney, Bing, Danny and Vera-Ellen work very well and I love Mary Wickes and Dean Jagger, too!

This is one of my two all time favorite Xmas films (the other being the original 40's Xmas in Connecticut with Barbara Stanwyck) that are worth your time.
