Wild Tigers I Have Known

Malcolm Stumpf, Patrick White, Max Paradise, Hailey Anne Nelson, Fairuza Balk

Logan, soft-spoken, lonely, and 13-years-old, is a boy with a crush. Unlike his equally lonely friend Joey, who obsesses over the sexual exploits of the slightly older, post-pubescent boys, Logan is f...( read more  read more... )ixated on the boys themselves--particularly Rodeo Walker. Rodeo is the only one of the group of cool kids who shows any friendliness towards Logan, meaning he does not go out of his way to make Logan's life miserable. As Logan and Rodeo strike-up a mismatched friendship, the kind that only works on taking deep walks into the forest when no one else is around, Logan's infatuation with Rodeo inspires him to create a new persona named Leah. Leah and Rodeo grow close through whispered late night phone calls, and when Leah agrees to meet Rodeo face to face, it is Logan who must finally prove that he can ask for what he so achingly wants.

Ths is by far one of the most bizarre and unusual indie projects I have seen in quite a while. It reminded me something between two other films: "Magnus" and "Tarnation." It's an experimental film that bases its beauty in the amazing cinematography and screenplay, rather than the...( read more) script or performances -not that those are any less wonderful.

Malcolm Stumpf, the 13-year-old leading actor, does an amazing job as the confused, apparently-homosexual, detached young boy and Fairuza Balk does an equally excellent job as the cruel, yet loving mother.

Something among a coming-of-age timeline, a dramatic love story and a wannabe masterpiece. Contains many scenes and quotations that stick to the mind, but unfortunately, their will to turn an inexistant storyline to a 5-star movie fails miserably.

A visually impressive film, but quite devoid of emotion or content. In the end, you feel rather touched, but hardly involved in any serious thinking. It's a cute film, but it rings false and pretentious in a few scenes. I still recommend it, though, it's unique in a way, and trul...( read more)y, its colors and sounds are worth it.

obiettivamente parlando, non è un grande film. parlando ad un livello puramente emozionale, e puramente personale, invece, l'ho trovato splendido.
(e ha delle bellissime musiche - quelle poche.)

This movie is Americas answer to foreign films, this thing takes art to another level, this kind of movie is capable of redeeming your soul

Beautiuflly photographed scenery from somewhere. That's it. Hints and peeks at a 13 year old trying to deal with his sexuality.

Beautiful photography. Too bad it ends there - a collage of strong pictures with nothing to glue it together. Poorly developed characters & narrative.

This movie addresses a hell of a lot of issues, and has some amazingly beautiful cinematography. It has a lot I can relate to from bullying to coming of age to unrequited love for another guy. The main character is 13 though, and although I understand his coming of age it makes m...( read more)e uncomfortable as at times he is turned into a real sex object. Nevertheless it makes for amazing yet uncomfortable viewing, which in some ways the issues involved should be, so, sheer artistic genius...
