the second one was stupid. but i mean how can you blame them? its hard to live up to the original considering how great it is. it really made me want some chokolate
i really like this movie.. and i expected a lot from the re-make.. but this was still much better.. johnny depp's a scary willy wonka.. creepy.. really.. but the gene wilder version was friendly and more fun.. the new one just compensated with the effects and all.. the old version made me believe that there's really a magical factory.. really nice.. nostalgic. haha!
“Hold your breath.
Make a wish.
Count to three.
Come with me and you'll be in a world of pure imagination”
I remember when I read the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 5th grade. It was the most enjoyable book that I have ever read. Do you know how excited my entire class was, when our teacher told us that there was a movie based on the book. We almost died! Yes, my first time seeing this movie was at school. I loved every minute of it. The movie was full of magic, excitement, and wonder - without all of the Hollywood glitz, glamour and computer graphics. And Charlie. … Oh, Charlie! How I love this little boy. He was so innocent, kind, and honest. Something a lot of us can never be. He was a poor, humble, responsible little boy who loved his family and actually had a job to help out. He was a sweet-heart. And his one dream in life was to find one of those golden tickets. When I was a kid I thought this movie was so sweet, fun and exciting. Now, that I’m older I realized that the movie is quite funny as well. I mean, seriously! Willa Wonka was a maniac! He was truly crazy. I think that he might have been on some serious illegal narcotics! And that guy that would go around whispering in the children’s ears, after they found a ticket… He was so creepy! The Oompa Loompa Songs cracked me up, because they were true and catchy. And lets not forget all the crazy things people were doing to get a golden ticket! Yeah, this movie is heart-warming, magical, really funny, and quite entertaining. It is a classic I hold dear to my heart!
the first one was better!!!!!!!!!!!!it stinks like cheese!!!!!!!!! ive never smelled cheese but it stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the greatest films of 1971 and it shows in stunning detail.
The classic Jack Albertson number "I Got A Golden Ticket" is uplifting indeed.
To me this movie is timeless! I guess you have to have a creative imagination to get into the movie. I watch the movie with my daughter! She only enjoys the Oompa Loompa singings!
Can't beat the old one even with Johnny Depp. The new one did follow the book more though and was pretty good.
