Windows consists of nine vignettes, each filmed in a single shot and glimpsed through a window as we watch what happens inside or outside, with the events on one side of the glass often contrasting greatly with those on the other. Segment include an aging musician playing a solo while the homeless gather outside, a woman having a nervous breakdown in a crowded office, a family loudly arguing while occupied by differing activities in their living room, a pair of lovers glimpsed on a rainy night, two middle-aged people sitting in silence as a rowdy picnic takes place outdoors, and a prisoner trying to escape his cell. Windows received its world premiere at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
