On the perimeter is Rene, a projectionist at the local movie theater, who deals with his lack of short term memory by constantly photographing the world around him. Not far away, lives local farmer Theo, a man struggling to keep his family happy and fed. One day he heads out with a horse in a trailer hitched to the back of his car. Also in the trailer, hiding, is his young daughter who stowed away without permission. On a slippery road, things are about to change. Tom Tykwer's most thoughtful and deep production. Not for the real-reader movie goer.

All the elements that will go on to define Tykwer films are here. The cinematography and use of color is excellent. And, forgive the spoiler, but I just have to say that Memento got a whole lot less creative (wow!).

The film has its flaws: characters and denouement.

Certainly NOT as good as RUN LOLA RUN, but interesting nonetheless. Maybe if FPotente was a lead, it would have been better. See PRINCESS & THE WARRIOR.

I somehow expected more from a Tom Twyker's film. It wasn't another "Run Lola" or "Heaven", but it was OK. I liked the trick of changing the color of the characters during the film, and as long as they were all coherent and believable, I think that's a great job.

I'm not sure why this movie gets some pretty mixed reviews. I thought it was a really good movie, especially for Tykwer's debut!

Este es el primer Largometraje como Director de Tom Tykwer

The Tykwer touches are there, but he has applied them to a story involving 5 unwatchable characters.

German Film. Drama. Dense with lots of layers.

My favourite German film ;) Beautifully shot in the alps, and a slow but absorbing storyline.
