    'Social Security Clerk: DOB?
    Simon Wilder: EFGHIJ.'
'Monty: Why did you say that I was a loser?
Simon Wilder: Winners forget they're in a race, they just love to run. You try too hard.'
'Simon Wilder: Know why you hate me so much Jeffrey? Because I look the way you feel. '
'Social Security Clerk: I'm going to ask again, do you have evidence of birth?
Simon Wilder: I'm sittin' here ain't I lady? What do you think, I happened by spontaneous combustion?'
'Simon Wilder: [quoting Walt Whitman, "Song of Myself"] "You shall no longer take things at second or third hand, not look through the eyes of the dead, nor feed on the spectres in books. You shall not look through my eyes either, nor take things from me, you shall listen to all sides and filter them from yourself."'
'Monty: Simon wrote his own obituary, and he asked me to read it. "Simon B. Wilder bit it on Wednesday."
    [they laugh]
Monty: "He saw the world out of the porthole of a leaky freighter, was a collector of memories, and interrupted a lecture at Harvard. In 50 years on earth he did only one thing he regretted. He is survived by his family: Jeff Hawks, who always remembers to flush; Everett Calloway, who knows how to use words; Courtney Blumenthal, who is strong, and also knows how to love; and by Montgomery Kessler, who will graduate life with honor, and without regret."'

A favorite. Love watching this every now and then. Great!

    Memorable scene:
    {Beginning: Everett on the radio}
"You too can rule the world.
You just have to crush everyone first."

I thought this movie was wonderful it showed what it is like to be a college student but it also the human element. This movie is a wonderful variation between the human element and the truths of what it is like to be a college student. Wonderful for all ages.

Education can't find at the four walls of the classroom merely listening through experiences of every people you meet and then put in on your life.

The whole movie is about being human and having compassion. Brendan does a great job at playing a cold prick!

I liked this one. The cast was really good and it gave Pesci a chance to shine while not being a goofball or a gangster. The rest of the cast was really good and the story moved along really well.

I saw this on TV once, and I only saw one scene, but that scene was incredible. Joe Pesci was in a lecture hall arguing against law students that the beauty of the Constitution was that it was changable.

There's just something about this little one that I adore.. Can't quite put my finger on it. It's just the kind of movie I'd love to watch on a rainy day. Sweet stuff.

Very interesting drama about a homeless philosopher who teaches blue-blooded Harvard student about life and compassion. This great story is predictable, even when it takes a tear-jerking turn, but Joe Pesci's cocky charm and the remarkably attractive supporting ensemble keep things interesting.

All around good film, show you where you stand and you can be happy to stand there even if you are not as good as you where once.

One of the best stories about being humble. I know that Brenden Fraiser was going to be a good actor.

It was SO weird seeing Joe Pesci as a what you call it... a bum? After seeing him in Home Alone and Lethal Weapon!
He did a good job, Brendan Fraser (George of the jungle!) was good too, and so was Patrick Dempsey (Grey's Anatomy) and Moira Kelly (One Tree Hill).
It's about a Harvard student and a bum who becomes friends. =P

Brendan Fraser is a strogling student in Haverd, and thinks he kno0ws all the answers until he runs into a bum, that knows more to life then Fraser thought he would have ever known. One of Joe Pesci's great performance! You think of him more of a mobster character, always with the loud mouth and a gun. Here in this movie he does have a mouth, but it is use to deliever a powerful message. A message about life, and how you can acually live it. A must see movie!

It was Mr.Pesci who had uplifted this flick to the worth seeing level. One of the best scenes is when Simon gives out a lecture for one of Monty's stubborn teachers.A nice film that is about life and not trying too hard.
