Plot: This is every parent's nightmare: Your kid goes off to school one morning--and never comes back. Based on the case of young New Yorker Etan Patz, who disappeared in the early 1980s, this film casts Ka...( read more read more... )te Nelligan as the distraught mother who lashes out at the police (in the person of a relentless detective played by Judd Hirsch), who make her and her husband suspects, even as she hounds them to find her child and drives away her husband (David Dukes) and friends (including Stockard Channing) with her intensity and single-mindedness. A good movie. Perhaps a bit misleading to those who have lost a loved one. Life is not always like the movies.

A well scripted and well acted drama film about a woman who's son is kidnapped and with the help of a detective trying to find her son. Judd Hirsch and Kate Nelligan give outstanding performances in this 1983 classic film.

This movie makes us realize that our children are our most price and possession than any material things we could ever ever own... I kept a box a kleenex near me every time I watched this movie.. Want to know where to get a copy for my library.
