This is one of those slight-of-hand smart comedies, which explains why its target audience hated it so much. A lot of the stuff involves dumb gags, silly stereotypes, and the acting is not going to win any awards for comedy or otherwise. But it is all wound up into an enjoyable story and directed well enough that even Eric Roberts is able to handle his role. It also has enough complexity and subtlety to keep it interesting.
It never tries to be more than it is, honest to goodness, lowbrow, redneck fun with even the higher class stepping down to have a bit of that same fun. This movie is in fact best summed up by the protagonist's motto/bumper sticker "Often wrong. Never in doubt."
An ok movie, has some funny moments, not really a fan of the Blue Collar Comedy group, but Larry's growing on me, and he does it here again, a solid comedian.
A small town sheriff helps a high class woman being held hostage and he doesnt know its the FBI. This movie has a few sorta funny scenes but no laugh out loud scenes at all. Its jokes are often old and lame. Larry himself keeps this one worth watching if you are a fan of his nothing else will.
This was shockingly entertaining, Larry the cable guy is great and unique stand up comedian but I can't say that much for his acting he only has two movies but this was good. It's the saving the beauty redneck style and it's full of strange but funny comparison and was not that predictable.
There wasn't much humour in it. Everything funny was shown on the commercials (if you had happen to see one) Larry The Cable Guy had some quick and very funny lines if you caught on. There wasn't much action in it either. I thought there would be a lot more action.
Fart humor times 10! Straight garbage unless you like Nascar and fry possum up for supper. One or two funny moments, but that's it. You're better off renting a blank tape.
I was forced into watching this, and while it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be....it still was QUITE bad. Larry the Cable Guy is a One Joke comedian that has FAR outlived his usefulness as an actor in ANY way. I'm hoping his 15 minutes are almost up.
I have yet to see anything good with Larry The Cable Guy starring. I don't even think his stand-up comedy is all that hilarious. Give me Bill Engval or Jeff Foxworthy any day
It has some funny spots. Not enough Jenny for me though. She is such a funny lady. Milicevic is just totally gorgeous but just didnt seem like a good role for her. Seriously, Larry is a funny guy though. I give him quite a bit of credit for expanding his base.
This movie wasn't very funny but entertaining to watch. The humor is just like the other Larry the Cable guy flicks. Larry's stand up is WAY funnier than his goofy movies. Jenny McCarthy was smokin'(as usual) and I wouldn't kick Ivana Milicevic out of my bed either. I wouldn't recommend anyone paying to rent or purchase this film. Just wait to watch it on tv.
