The bad guys have it set up so that it seems that only the supernatural can solve this mystery, but careful and methodical work by a police inspector unravels the whole thing in the end. By doing so, he prevents the bad guys from driving the film's Hitchcockian innocent, a doctor, insane. Along the way, the viewer is treated to some genuine Indian exotics, such as a host of characters who wouldn't look out of place in New York or Los Angeles. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
