Rosa (Carmen Machi) is a Madrid housewife who leads a drab existence; she looks after her husband Francisco (Pep Ricart), keeps the house clean, runs a part-time hair removal business out of her home, and tries to ignore the constant ringing in her ears. But one night, after Francisco has gone to bed for the night, Rosa puts on a dressy outfit, grabs her suitcase and leaves home, hoping to catch a bus and start a new life. However, her plan runs into a major snag when she's unable to get a ticket and befriends Radek (Jan Budar), a half-bright former convict from Poland. Rosa is good hearted enough to see that Radek needs a friend, but when he has a seizure and had to be taken to the hospital, she sees that's she's gotten herself into more trouble than she counted on.
