Hong Kong isn't much nicer to her, but she befriends an undercover cop (Farini Cheung), who enlists her to return to China to track a brutal drug smuggler. However, betrayal, tragedy, and brutal circumstance await the women, who eventually flee to Canada, beaten and demoralized. But that isn't the end for them - they regroup and return to Hong Kong with only one thing on their minds: revenge. Bone-crunching violence and over-the-top Category III excess have earned Women on the Run a notorious reputation among Hong Kong Cinema fans who think girls with guns are the sexiest thing ever.
