I haven't read the book (don't call me uncultured), so I can't really comment on movie - book adaptation. But analysing the movie alone, I'll say they had a great editor on board, as well as a decent cast.Don't expect a soppy, happy - chappy ending though. Save for a rainy day.

as i actually read the book a couple of years back this served as a good reminder and it does actually go along with the story of the book. most other flims that first came from books (dracula & frankenstein being prime examples) seem to shoot off in all sorts of other directions...( read more)
