He finds the monster and discovers it's been raising a scantily-clad woman, Samantha, since she survived a plane crash years before that killed her parents. In the idyllic jungle, Johnny and Samantha fall in love. Then Johnny asks her to convince "Utam" to go to Hong Kong. Lu Tien, an unscrupulous promoter, takes over: Utam is in chains for freak show exhibitions. When Lu Tien assaults Samantha, Utam's protective instincts take over: havoc in Hong Kong.

    Do you like Giant Apes?
    The Shaw Brothers?
    Frequently topless women?
Than This picture is for you!

A fitfully amusing, very bad King Kong ripoff from Hong Kong with the purtiest jungle girl ever to don a leather bikini. Sorry Raquel Welch & Jennifer O'Dell, you've both been bumped.

Check out the ridiculous original poster, you'd think she was the giant threat running amok in ...( read more)downtown Hong Kong! While carrying a vampire-eyed leopard, no less. Ahh, without shlock cinema how would we determine when something was actually good?

The King Kong-via-Hong Kong premise and retro effects make for some entertaining schlock in the first quarter, but it fades quickly over the flick. Or perhaps I'm just not enough into "so bad it's good".

King Kong in Hong Kong, with elements of Tarzan.
  • September 5, 2009
Similar to the King Kong tale in that a big monkey ravages a city, but this time its Hong Kong being destroyed when they try to restrain him for their entertainment. Once again there is only one girl who can calm him, but its his long-time jungle companion and orphaned White girl...( read more) whose parent's plane crashed years before. Some elements are more similar to Mighty Joe Young or Sheena, Queen of the Jungle. Some cool miniatures getting smashed if you're into that, but otherwise mostly forgettable. Oh, except the side-boob with nip in a PG-rated film!

A fabulous King Kong rip-off that's completely absurd and totally enjoyable.
  • October 6, 2008
It's so bad that it's pretty funny, but not funny enough that I would ever watch it again.

Watch out for the mighty peking man; he'll glory stomp you like a Chinese King Kong w/ a hot foot. A Shaw Studio embarrassment
