The classic X-Men cartoon certainly holds a special place in all our hearts for trying to stay true to the comics in terms of both look and storylines. Their take on the Phoenix Saga was pretty good and this collection of those episodes certainly makes sense to market.
somewhat accurate telling of the actual phoenix saga...closest to what actually happened in comic books...unlike that stuff they tried to pass off in x2 & x3
Now this was the only exception to my ongoing love affair with Xmen...Jean Grey wasn't a character i particularly liked so this Saga kinda fell short for me..but i loved it nontheless
I loved this X-men series and the Phoenix Saga was great- the first 8 times I watched it. Then it became THE only episodes Fox was airing EVER. That and how many times can you hear Jean whine about Scott before you completely lose interest in her as a character? Overall, it sticks pretty true to source material and the animation is superb, voice acting isn't terrible I would just say I'm jaded from seeing it SO many times.
I love the X-men so much i wrote a comic involving them for my pleasure. This series was the highlight of my cartoon watching life so far. Best bit.... All of it.
Watched this a long while back. Classic X-Men. A good reference for fans of the movie who haven't read the comic to see how different the storylines really are.
Possibly the best animated series to be based on a Marvel comic book, the X-Men TV show from the 90's did a great job of sticking to the source material, while still making it accessable to a new audience. The X-Men movies of today definitely owe some of their success to this series. And why not? With a perfect cast, excellent writing and a plot based heavily on the comic books, these five episodes of the animated series are better then X-Men: The Last Stand.
saw it when it was on tv a long time ago- was pretty good for american animation but they need to just do an xmen anime and get it over with-combine good story and characters with truely worthy animation and you have a classic on your hands
Again with TV shows.... why do they keep ending up here? I mean i loved the show as much as everyone else and it's still better than most of the comic book cartoons out there, but it's not a movie... and this is a movie website.
NOT TOO BAD, NOT TOO GOOD EITHER

The X-men animated series was pretty good in regards to getting people into the x-universe with some pretty close to the comics conversions and of course the phoenix saga is a great one to do, the show overall falls on the same rough territory that marvel animation always does, with it's hokey animation and just playing it for action and spectacle, rather than focusing on the characters...but this one isn't too bad
