Year in the Death of Jack Richards
Jack Richards, a Professor of Theology in his 50s, has apparently gone mad obsessing over the supposed abduction of his daughter by what he believes to be a sinister cult. Wallowing in self-pity for years, he decides to commit suicide. However, the manner in which he decides to suicide is quite peculiar: he allows himself to be abducted by what he believes to be a cult, whose members treat him as their "king" for one year (he is given a "castle", "concubines", "gifts", etc...) and then murder him as an atonement for their sins. -- © Ourson Films

Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"The plot's Twilight Zone-like entanglements might be more palatable if the film's execution were more adept."
‑ Liam Lacey, Globe and Mail
"The movie plays like a Film 101 final project, and the writer/director, Benjamin Paquette, is not quite ready for prime time."
‑ Liz Braun, Jam! Movies
