Fritz Lang's amazing direction, the casting of Henry Fonda as an escaped convict and Sylvia Sidney as his wife make this film a real winner. Fonda does an amazing job. Sydney gives a very poignant performance. Well photraphed, excellent pace, moving and touching.

A Fritz Lang masterpiece dealing convincingly with its themes and storyline. Although suffering slightly from an overemphasis on pleas for justice and a few minor plot holes, there is little to dirty the pristine quality of the film.
