  Young Guns 2 may not be 100% factorial but at least I guess they don't pretend it is, In the first film they even make point that the gossips and what was written in the media at the time was sensationalist and few records kept have survived. Interesting then that they went with the story of old Brushy Bill Roberts being the real Billy the Kid, it's a great idea. I found the sequel to be better all round really, better story, better performances and some real stand-out scenes. The soundtrack is also awesome. I'm not a Bon Jovi fan but when the album came out I'd listen to very little else. James Coburn's cameo was pretty special too and that scene with Jane 'You can kiss my ass' Greathouse is memorable.

  Sequel to the cool Young Guns, Young Guns II is the story of how Billy The Kid is trying to outrun Pat Garrett and make it it safely to Old Mexico. As far as sequels so, usually they aren't that great, but Young Guns II is an interesting sequel with an awesome story that definitely delivers an entertaining 2 hours. The film follows the events after the first film, and many of the cast of the first film return where they left off. I am a fan of the old school Spaghetti westerns of Sergio Leone, but the Young Guns films are Westerns that are a lot of fun. This second film has a lot of action, a good soundtrack and good acting. Compared to the old school Westerns, Young Guns I and II can't compare, but it does deliver a dose of a classic Western film to a "hiper" audience. I think that Young Guns II is a fine sequel and really, I can't decide between which film I liked better. Each are very good and fun. The films are nothing epic, but the fact that it's a film about legendary outlaw Billy The Kid makes it worth watching. Emilio Estevez (who's career pretty much went no where) is a well suited actor to play Billy The Kid and he reprises his role here, and he delivers another great comical, eccentric performance. Young Guns II is a revamped Western film that gives the genre new blood. Along with Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven, Young Guns II can be considered a lifeline for a somewhat dying genre of cinema. Also in a way, i'd see both films in the Young Guns series as a bridge from the old spaghetti Westerns to the more recent Westerns Such as Unforgiven, The Quick And The Dead and the remake of True Grit. Without Young Guns I and II, I'm sure the genre would've died long ago.

  Close to the first, not quite as good due to the fact they try and make it to silly here and there, silly wanna be funny moments that dont work. The soundtrack is better and the action looks better. The cast is still great but its just alittle too over the top. It all looks like the Bon Jovi music video, the ending is also abit stupid, but the final gunfight though short lived is pretty cool.

  I dont know why a lot of people canned this flick... its not as good as the first, but it was entertaining and I liked it. Its more easy going, relaxed and funny. I guess its because of Billy the Kid's charisma, which is played well by Emilio Estevez, the Young Guns movies are some of his best work. Then with the rest of the star studded cast, some who are now household names past and present, it really did well. I guess the flaws in it is the idea of reinventing the modern western. But its not meant to be taken seriously, its a good yarn and entertaining flick, not a biography. But I guess when the rock guitar comes in during the scenes, people would either want to scream and curse, but I think it suits it perfectly... I mean, what better way to bring back a classic genre without an updated score which doesn't fit into the movie, but rather rides alongside with it... Alan Silvestri is a good composer, kudos to him. And the accompanying soundtrack by Jon Bon Jovi is also a blast. I guess what I felt down and out about was the ending... and some parts of the movie didn't fit too well in some places. But the performances are what counts, and for an ensemble cast, I think everyone delivered. If its one character that is underrated as far as folk heroes and bad guys go, its Emilio's Billy the Kid.

  After the success of Young Guns #1, they quickly came up with another sequel and returned Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland and Lou Diamond Phillips to their original roles. They brought some new gun-slinging kids onboard including Christian Slater and Viggo Mortensen. The fun and energy of the original was back, with a rockin' soundtrack. There were more hilarious quips from Billy the Kid (Emilio Estevez) - who had quit a cocky attitude. There's more tragedy as the outlaw wannabe's are shot down by some serious lawmen. It's a fun ride. There's a cool framing plot of an old man telling the story of Billy the Kid's exploits. Great music by Bon Jovi! "Blaze of Glory".

  I really like this western just as good as the first but with a slighty better storyline following the exploits of Billy the Kid as he is hunted down by former friend Pat Barrett.

  "Billy get your guns! There's trouble blowing like a hurricane." Man, what a good, but out-of-place song, but more on that later. First, let's discuss the film's deal of flaws, such as some improvable practical effects, some cliches, some fall-flat jokes and some cheesiness. The biggest problem with the film is the extremely fast pacing, which would be good if it wasn't for this film's complex story that feels - as put best by Roger Ebert - unfinished. Still, the film is supported by a good hook, some snappy editing, sharp sound, good action sequences, a moving final act and an interestingly inventive use of historical liberties. Just like the first one, the soundtrack needs to be discussed. Alan Silvestri's score is much more fitting than Brian Banks and Anthony Marinelli's from the first one, but it's just better, in general. As much as I like the original's score, Silvestri's isn't as cheesy and has some more depth, as well as a less overly contemporary feel to contradict the Western theme. The score is much more grounded in the film's timeline, yet still retains the colorfullness of the original score. Of course, what hurts that is Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory", which is really good and all, but still feels a bit too mainstream and contemporary, but just barely, believe it or not. But then they got to "Billy Get Your Guns", which is also good and all, but pretty much took good care of that "this seems to fit" mood. Still, get past that, then the music is a deeper, less cheesy and much more appropriate improvement on the still solid score from the preceeding film. As for the ensemble, it has decreased so that we can be more intimate with the characters, who are also finally given some development. However, while this does have a positive affect on the character investment, it damages the entertainment value. However, Estevez is almost a redemption, as he had added more color to his character to make him more entertaining, as well as more dimension to make him more compelling. There's another thing: The performances are strong and arguably improve upon the performances in the original. Well, Lou Diamond Phillips is certainly better, as he puts on a passable job instead of overacted job. He's climbing up the ladder, though not as quickly as Estevez and Sutherland, who are compelling, charming and generally strong leads. Still, as much as I've praised the film, the rushed pacing really takes some heavy hits against the film and keeps it from feeling too special and memorable. Probably the only reason why people remember it is because it's the sequel to a cult hit and made Bon Jovi more popular until everyone pretty much forgot about him during the big "Music Quality Drop of the 2000s". Man, I can just see someone in about 10 years doing another hip ensemble Western with the new music icon behind it: Rap. I think I'm gonna pass on "Young Glocks". You guys like how I forced that joke it there? But seriously though, the film has made some major improvements, but still lacks the strong and ever-intensifying compellingness of its predecssor, which would have worked great with this more complex story. Nevertheless, "Young Guns II" is a solid companion piece to the original cult hit and stands as an improvable, but still generally well-executed and charming adventure.

  Young Guns 2 is an always entertaining sequel. I like it more than the original infact. I like the entire cast, they all do good work. It's almost solid but it has a few flaws in the end. I also don't think the transition Pat Garrett takes from outlaw to lawman works that much either. Despite a dark and vioelnt script this movie still manages to be fun. The soundtrackis great as well.
