An absolutely brilliant film. Totally unique. Incredible. Woody Allen is a genius. Just incredible, I have never seen anything like it. Ingenious. I was enthralled. An amazing film.

"I even studied with Freud. We broke over 'penis envy.' He thought it should be confined to women."
Very funny moments -- I am not sure in the end what it all amounts to, other than a pretty obvious theme about being yourself, but there is some classic Woody Allen dialogue to ...( read more) -

If it's being done right anywhere in the world,..it's prolly NOT being done by baby-rapin' Woody Allen.

Because in the end, it was the love of one and not the admiration of many that made me complete.

Could be described as quirky, but that would be reductive. It is truly a work of genius. One of Allen's most un-indulgent films, and most un-indulgent roles, eschewing comedic bombast in favour of a more restrained, poignant performance.
It's sweet, modest, pertinent and complet...( read more) -

Another Woody Allen film I got to watch and yet it's very different from his other work. Set as a satiric documentary, Zelig tells the story of a chameleon man who gets to be cured by Dr. Eudora Fletcher (played by Mia Farrow). The effects are really great and I laughed a lot whi...( read more)

As hilarious as it is inventive, Zelig explores Woody Allen's creative landscape as a director in an exciting and very effective way. Seamlessly edited.

For some reason, something prevents me to see the entire movie!!! It's a darn shame! It's witty. Something to watch alone, without interruptions. One day I'll watch it to its ending.

This has very little of the humor I'm so drawn to in Woody Allen films, but manages to weave an interesting story. It's the earliest mockumentary I've ever seen (were there others before this? It was definitely before Spinal Tap). Its ability to mesh current and vintage footage w...( read more)

This delightful mockumentary is powerful in a world where everything is copied. The cultures no longer exist and the people, even feeling like individuals, are almost the same, considering the global context. Definitely one of the best Woody Allen`s efforts, anticipated what "For...( read more)

'Zelig' is fascinating for its mockumentary qualities alone. The idea is so over the top, but recorded in such a serious and standard documentary manner that it allows Allen to do what he does best, create a highly awkward but lovable persona in a time when the U.S. was so superf...( read more)

I have a love-hate relationship with Woody Allen. I can't stand the guy personality-wise, his ultra-neurotic schtick is beyond stale at this point, but I can't help but grudgingly admire his talent and admit that I enjoy the hell out his movies, especially when he's either not i...( read more)

One of the first Woody Allen films I ever saw. Haven't seen it in a very long time, but I still remember being very impressed with the filmmaking and story.

Probably one of the most brilliant things - in the most unsual and strange way possible - ever to come out of Woody Allen's mind. One of the finest examples (although the same can be said of many other of his films) of his true creative genius as a filmmaker and artist. A mockume...( read more)

The laughs are a little more subtle in this one, a little less Mel Brooks, a little more dry humour. The technique of inserting Woody into old black and white footage is amazing, especially since it predates that scene in Forest Gump by a decade. Overall it's a whimsical narrativ...( read more)

Of all the funny and not so funny (when he pretends to be Bergman) I think this is te definition of his inteligent dark critical humor. In a mockumentary format about the human camaleon, a B&W jewel.

Funny and moving mockumentary about the human chameleon Leonard Zelig, who becomes so adept at fitting in that he loses all sense of self. Combines slapstick and silly sight gags with poignant irony. A fantastic film.

Haha, this looks weird. I'm not a Woody Allen fan, but I think I might give this a go.

A mockumentary that is staggeringly brilliant and hysterical. Technically a marvel. Forrest Gump owes a thing or two to this mini-masterpiece.
