they did a simply horrible job of fallowing the book, however, the movie was a good movie in itself.

the film should have been longer they cut almost all of the book , but it still was an awsome movie.

Im a huge fan of the book, but this movie will never be the next LOTR. I think it had the potential to be great, but the movie strays away too much from the book.

The books are GREAT, Paolini does a great job, and of course a movie about dwarves and magic will be similar to LOTR, but there was no Dragon in LOTR and its the main charactuer here. ... The Movie however, was SLAUGHTERED by low-budget, in-a-hurry film makers who dont know CRAP about making a movie that COULD have been as good as LOTR if it had been done better. Makeup and special effects were cheesey, Huge story lines were chopped out, that will make a sequel hard to follow the books at all, ... I'm sorry, I had high hopes for this film, but it sucked. ... I feel bad for Chris for getting speelers to make his movie.
