Clooney Signs Deal for Two New Films

George Clooney has signed a contract with Warner Independent Pictures for two upcoming productions.

The first will be "White Jazz," an adaptation of the novel by James Ellroy, author of "L.A. Confidential." Clooney will star and produce, with Joe Carnahan as director. Like "Confidential," the story is a gritty crime noir set in 1950s Los Angeles.

Next will be "Belmont Boys," a heist story in the vein of Clooney's "Ocean's Eleven" films. Clooney will direct, from a script by Brian Koppelman and David Levien. No actors have been cast yet.

The contract comes after a successful history between Clooney and Warner Independent Pictures, who produced his Oscar-winning "Good Night And Good Luck," and will be releasing his upcoming World War II drama "The Good German" later this month.
