A prequel, called Legends of the Dark Crystal is scheduled to come out on March 11, 2008. The prequel is in manga form and will be published by TokyoPop. Story by Barbara Randall Kesel, Art by Max Kim. The story will be set hundreds of years before the story in The Dark Crystal and before the Great Extermination.
