When it comes to winning Oscars®, Canada has produced an impressive list of winners and a remarkable number of awards. To date, 10 Oscars® have been presented to National Film Board of Canada films and it received an honourary Oscar® in 1989 "in recognition of its 50th anniversary and its dedicated commitment to originate artistic, creative and technological activity and excellence in every area of film making." The 2007 nominations included the Board’s The Danish Poet, directed and animated by Torill Kove, a Canada/Norway co-production.
