BBC turning Harry Potter into a Reality Series

Sounds entrieging although as long as magic is used for fun and not to get weriod and spooky I suppose it might be a laugh, entertianing and interesting.

...WOW! Ok well I personally LOVE harry potter but this is just stupid, what's the point people's? Really? Just a good way to embarress yourself and wreck the movies. I get the idea of making like advertisement for the movie and such but this is like Harry Potter camp for kids its like wow. The originals in the movies are the only one's who can pull it off. This is just unbelievable lol

its not really something id be interested in, even though i love harry potter because harry potter is supposed to be a fantasy movie/book and turning into reality wouldn't attract fans as there interest would be fantasy, or they wouldn't have read the book. jADe

OK, i liked the books, thought the films were a very slight step down, but still interesting. But this is way past "a very slight step down". This is a full speed sky dive from a stratosphere. WHAT THE !£$*%^& DO THEY THINK THEY ARE DOING! THEY ARE GIVING IN TO THE MEDIA!! Not only that, it's not even going to have the interest of the films because there's no actual 'magic' (i assume there will be no on the spot FX team) and no excitement (what is hogwarts without the insane Dragons and homocidal maniacs, i ask you?)

Dont think it all take off, bit shabby and mite ruin wot the great books and films have achieved. Not a grat idea

Wait, I agree with sean62084, about the part how the idea of Harry Potter is going to get so screwed up. I started reading Harry Potter when the books first came out - when i was in kindergarden. Of course it took forever to read back then, but that's how much i loved it! What if the show is a dud, kids around the world will be sooooooo mad!

I think this would make a great series, though i don't see how it is related to Harry Potter. It seems more like that Disney Channel Movie about a kid magician contest.. "Now You See It..." I think it was called.

WTF?!?!?!?!?!?! BBC execs need to do two things....first ask the public if it is what they want......and the second is get their heads checked if they think that people want to watch a show that will ruin their interest for one of the most popular books and movies sets in history.

It's so good to see our ever-increasing license fee being put to good use, isn't it?

It's just another cheap reality show so people will waste even more of their money by phoning in. And, no doubt, just like the books it will have the church up in arms saying the BBC is teaching our children about the occult. And then, of course, there's the "celebrity" show where Paul Daniels and Ali Bongo try to make a television comeback.

As for me, I don't even bother watching Big Brother any more so I'm sure I'll be missing this load of rubbish.

They gave out application forms at my kid brother's school. He wanted to fill it in, but I gave him three simple reasons why he shouldn't:

1: You hate all that magic and Harry Potter stuff. I don't care whether he would be on TV or not, a12 year old should stick to his principles.

2: It would be really, really crap, and you wouldn't watch it anyway, so why go it?

3: they'd probably put with really loud chavvy people and the young goths society, and you'd be overshadowed (as he's a bit shy y'see).

So I don't hold out much hope for it, as like all other cash ins, it will be a big fat failiure.

Why spoil the book and the films with a ridiculous money-making idea?

its illusions like real magicians, sounds interesting to me. not the whole basing it off of harry potter, but if it was jsut like a magic thing i think that would be sweet. imagine if chris angel is one of the mentors, that guys crazy.

The last thing modern-day TV needs is another weekly reality show. What will TV critics allow next? Are they doing this for entertainment purposes or as a "educational experiance"? Overall, this idea is horribly stupid and idiotic.

Is everyone on TV so desperate these days that they're making a reality show about whatever strikes their fancy? It's pathetic and apalling. American Idol was bad enough. Now we have it with special effects-- because hello, they can't really do magic.
Unless there are no special affects and you just have to "believe in yourself."
