In his latest newsletter to fans, Tyler Perry says he's not trying
to get sucked into the media's obsession with pitting him against
Eddie Murphy in a battle over who does a better job acting in drag.
With Murphy playing multiple female characters in his upcoming
film "Norbit," (due in theaters five days before the Valentine's Day
release of Perry's "Daddy's Little Girls"), Perry says the press is
at it again.
He writes: "When I was doing press they were asking all of the
same questions, like `Who do you think is better, Eddie's characters
or yours?' I am not about to get into this mess with them. Even
though I don't know Eddie, we all know that he is a brilliantly
talented man and I won't get into any kind of contest no matter what
questions are asked of me. I just wanted you all to be aware of the
tricks that they try."
*Meanwhile, at the recent BET "Celebration of Gospel" taping,
in the EUR-TV clip below, Tyler Perry breaks-down what his latest
film, "Daddy's Little Girls," is all about. Essentially, he says,
this one is for the Brothers.
