February 15, 2007 - Aaron Eckhart has been confirmed as being in "final negotiations" to play Harvey Dent in the upcoming The Dark Knight. District Attorney Harvey Dent begins as an ally of Batman and Gotham cop Jim Gordon, only to end up becoming the horrifically scarred, coin-flipping villain Two-Face.

Dent has previously been portrayed onscreen by Billy Dee Williams and Tommy Lee Jones, who starred opposite Eckhart in The Missing.

The Batman begins movie does not fit in with the other 4 movies. They start again. So the Joker has not been kiled in these movies as he has not been introduced. I think Batman begins was the best Batman movie so far and I think the next one will be even darker as Batman should be.

I do agree that the two Batman films directed by Tim Burton (starring Michael Keaton as Batman) were the best 2 of the 4 other movies, as they were dark, but Batman begins was better.

I agree that Keaton was the best Batman. I don't see how any joker could be better than Jack Nicholson's. They need to cast cripin glover as a villain but i don't quite know which one.

Oh, and for the record, the Best batman was Michael Keaton. Did a damn good job IMO. All the movies started to suck after Batman Returns, went all comic/kiddie crap with the special effects, looked more like a video game.

And how are they going to do another film with the Joker when he was killed off in the orginal. Joker was not even around until the first movie when Jack Napier fell into the vat of chem, thus becoming the joker. Riddle me that?

I wish they would make up their damn minds, is two-face black or is he white. In the orginal Batman movei (the first one from 1989) they had Billy D Williams cast as harvey dent, AKA Two-Face. see link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_(1989_film)#Cast

Then they cast Tommy Lee Jones as Two-face in Batman Forever. From black to white... wonder if he has the same plastic surgon as Michale Jackson....

But seriously, am i the only one that has noticed the casting color changes? lol

Well I just read from Fox News that the Joker is confirmed to be played by Heath Ledger. I know that thinking of Bowie is tempting but sorry guys the joker is already confirmed.

    well...

    about the joker:

what some good and trustfull people said to me was that david bowie (yes! david bowie) was already sealing the deal to play this caracter.

...well done! non obvious option and good actor.

(would joker start to call batman the "danger boy"?) ;)

I was really looking forward to see either Steve Carell or Crispin Glover as the Joker. Heath Ledger better come through.

You can't have Jim Carrey as the next Joker... he has already played the Riddler and that is too close to the Joker.

  • Can't wait for this one to come out. Christian Bale portrays the best Batman so far. And the next Joker? Jim Carrey is a perfect fit.

  • In Batman & Robin, when Bane breaks into Arkham Asylum's storage room to get Mr. Freeze's cryogenic suit, both Two-Face and Riddler's costumes are visible in the background, suggesting that Two-Face possibly might have survived his fall.

    Trivia

    * Duela Dent was originally intended to be the daughter of Two-Face. Creator Bob Rozakis stated, "It didn't take too long to decide whose daughter she would turn out to be. After all, the only married villain was Two-Face. I convinced Julie (and associate editor E. Nelson Bridwell, the acknowledged keeper of DC's historical consistency) that Harvey and Gilda Dent had a daughter, that Harvey had been disappointed because she wasn't twins, and that they'd named her Duela."

  • "In the Company of Men" is cold, clinical, offensive, hurtful and fantastic. I think Aaron Eckhart is a great choice as Harvey Dent. Now that they've replaced Katie Holmes with Rachel McAdams there is not a weak thespian link in the bunch.

  • Aaron Eckhart is an excellent choice for the role. I've loved him in everything I've seen so far. Watch "In the company of men" if you get the chance.
