Cate Blanchett has signed on to star in the fourth installment of the "Indiana Jones" adventures. With David Koepp's screenplay shrouded in secrecy, it is unclear what character Blanchett will play.

Harrison Ford already has boarded the project, which will be produced by Lucasfilm and directed by Steven Spielberg. Rumour is still circulating that Shia LeBeouf is still in talks to play Indiana Jones' son.

Shooting will begin in June in Los Angeles and at undisclosed locations around the world. Paramount Pictures will release Indiana Jones 4 day-and-date around the world on May 22, 2008.

Frank Marshall is producing, with George Lucas and Kathleen Kennedy executive producing.

    this could be pretty cool, potentially. i mean, Rachel Weisz is living proof than an Oscar-worthy actress is capable of being a great addition to a fun, light, action film. here's hoping Cate'll play the villain, though.

    Shia and Cate should be great!! But all depends on their characters development and the script... we'll have to wait and see...

  • I don't think Shia looks like Harrison Ford. He would be a good actor for the movie but not as Indy's son.
    I think Cate Blanchett however would be good for the movie if she's not crazy like that blond chick from the second movie. She's one of my favorite actresses and has very good talent.
