Warner Bros. officially announced today that Christina Ricci will join Emile Hirsch as his girlfriend Trixie in the "Speed Racer" movie, the big screen adaptation of the cult Japanese animated series from the 1960s. John Goodman and Susan Sarandon round out the cast. The studio is prepping the film for a May 2008 release. "Speed Racer" is being written and directed by the Wachowski brothers, with Joel Silver serving as producer.
