M. Night Shyamalan will direct a live-action adaptation of hit kids' show.

Avatar Sixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan is gearing up to write and direct a big-screen adaptation of the popular Nickelodeon kids' cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender for Paramount Pictures. Avatar will be the first film Shyamalan directs that is based on characters created by someone else.

Avatar follows the adventures of a gifted 12-year-old boy who is the last hope of a race of beings who can control the elements. The show regularly lands in the top 10 animated programs on TV and is Nickelodeon's top-rated Friday-night show.

I hope he does well with this movie. Avatar is my favorite show and I'd hate to see some messed up live action. If he does good enough to fit the high expectations, I'd love to see what else he can do, especially with the other seasons.

my little brother loves the show. i think it is pretty cool, juevenial, but cool. a live action version would be ideal. M. Night should be able to handle it, as long as he doesn't get to cocky or star himself in it.

Wow... I've been following the Avatar for some time now...

And to hear this, leaves me intriguing... but I'll wait for the release of it and give my input on that.

As for now, do any one know any other broadcasting of the other books?
