ComingSoon spoke to producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who revealed what's happening with a possible "Beverly Hills Cop 4" movie.

"'Happening' would be too strong a word, but we are working on a take," he explained. "We have not hired a writer yet, but we've been analyzing the franchise and asking lots and lots of people about Alex Foley. 'What do you love about Axel and what would you want to see with an Axel Foley movie?' I think we have enough information now that we'll probably be hiring a writer in the next four to eight weeks and taking a good shot at it."

Di Bonaventura added that Eddie Murphy will probably return to reprise his role as Axel Foley. "It's one of his favorite characters and as he told me, it's a character that his fans come up to him often and mention to him."

According to an earlier report, Eddie Murphy was in negotiations for "Beverly Hills Cop 4," but that was back in November.

    I loved this movie and the first sequel but he the third one tanked. I wouldnt mind a 4th as long as it was done better then the 3rd one was.

    Some of these franchises still have some life in them. Though BHC did after the first one. Second was okay, third was awful.

    STOP THE MADNESS!!!! What is with these actors? Their making sequels to movies that are 10+ years to late. COME ON PEOPLE: ROCKY, DIE HARD, INDIANA JONES, RAMBO... the list goes on. Some of these movies are good, but others are just sad; BHC 4 is just sad.

    It's hard to let go of a good thing and it would be great if they made a BHC4. It may or may not be as successful as it was then but just to bring back the old cast would be enjoyable.

    when is it all gona stop its a franchise that should have ended where it ended. no doubt they where good films but there comes a time when u do say enuf is enuf. whats gona be next Top Gun 2 or Back To The Future 4

  • I LOVE beverly hills cop! Axel Foley is funny and great to watch. Murphy can still make it funny in the fourth! its a pleasure to be entertain by Eddie Murphy. Keep it going!!!! I wouldnt mind being an extra! lol

  • can it be like the other films??? or is it his way of redeeming himself from NORBIT which I thought was one of his worst movies next to Vampire In Brooklyn....

    But hey, I will watch this movie because it's a part of 80's/90's Eddie Murphy films....

  • I would love to see it when it comes out. Love Eddie Murphy to play as Axel Foley and love to see the whole cast of Beverly Hills Cop.
