Another Asian Horror Movie Remake Just Got It's Leading Man

The Korean horror movie "A Tale Of Two Sisters" is being remade in the United States, as are many other Asian horror flicks. Such as The Ring, The Grudge, Dark Water, and Pulse.

I've heard that this movie is particularly frightening, the original I mean, the U.S. version is still finishing pre-production, but I'm guessing it'll be out by the end of next year or the begining of the year after.

The leading man that was just cast is David Strathairn, best known for his leading role in the acclaimed bio-pic "Good Night and Good Luck". He was also recently in "We Are Marshall", and the upcoming "The Bourne Ultimatum", and "My Blueberry Nights". Straithairn is a lesser known actor, but he's also a very good actor of the arthouse sense. It looks like the studio went for good acting over popularity with this move. Which is never a bad thing.

If the newer version is half as creepy as I've heard the original is, it should scare the shit out of americans. Can't wait to see it.

I've seen the original version. It's really good. Confusing too in a way.

Yeah, David does look kind of like a white version of the dad.

And to the girl who left the first comment, why didn't you like it? I've heard it was like one of the scariest movies ever from a few people I know who've seen it. Then again, J-horror, and asian horror of any kind seems to be overrated in most places... If I watch an asian horror movie it seems that there's a ton of build up, and you're really creeped out, but then whatever you where waiting for doesn't end up being that great and you just go "Oh, wasn't that scary"... The cinematography is always fantastic though...

I also just read on IMDB.com that the girl that played Betty Brant (Elizabeth Banks) in the Spider-man 3 is also cast.

    Interesting.

If David is going to play the man in the upper left corner, then he's dead on!
