"Transformers 2" is a Prequel

They already have a novelization of a prequel to the movie out. It's called Ghosts of Yesterday. If they made that into a movie they would have to add a few more scenes in. Otherwise it'd be too short.

The book explains how the Autobots and Decepticons found out that the Allspark was on Earth. And how the Autobots knew that humans are worth protecting. It also gives more of an explanation as to why Bumblebee can't speak and it explains what all of the Autobots different jobs are. In the movie it says that Bumblebee is a guardian when he's really a scout. that's why he's smaller then most of the others.

A prequel would be awesome becauseit could be set before the All-Spark was sent through space and ended up on Earth!

Ya know.. I really hate prequels. But if they are going to have it, we can only wonder if its going to be a Beast Wars Rendition? Or perhaps, the wars on Cybertron before they came to earth. Plus, they didn't come as a comet, they came in the Ark! Why the heck did they try and change the story line? Those bastards! Maybe they'll show his grandfather's interaction with the Transformers. I think we are all well aware that Starscream is trying to find more decepticons.

Also they should have a sequel before a Prequel so we will know what happens cause at the very very end of the movie transformers after the credits... it shows a decepticon leaving earth.... which means it's going back to get more decepticons to go back to earth.. also there still is a fragment of the cube left

If there is a prequel to the movie, doesn't that mean that it won't be on earth and that there wont be any humans??

If there's a prequel, it'll ceratinly describe the war in their home world and the loss of the cube. So I don't think it'll be as good as the Transformers running in theatres now!!
It would be preferable to have a sequel because a fragment of the cube still remains!!

Megatron mentions to Starscream, "You've failed me again" withing the film.

If there were a prequel to explain the situation, I'd welcome it.
Too bad so many of you 'amateur critics' really don't enjoy the production process of filmmaking enough to respect it, success or failure.

If the prequel involves a battle, expect better scenes (that don't involve Tyrese Gibson), and more transformers.

Prequels gain success, so don't bash them.

A prequel doesnt make sense. I can see a movie that gets more involved to who the transformers are and really explains their background, but starscream was the Man(robot) in the cartoons anyway. Megatron was a tool. They need to get to Galvatron and Unicron as well

At the end of the movie Bumblebee is able to talk. and a prequel is set before the 1st movie. I thin this is going to be awsome. the first movie rocked. and if the next is going to be a prequel then that can only mean more giant robots. XD

What how come their putting a prequel instead of a sequel? I sometimes confuse myself with this kind of movies in which prequels comes second when it was suppose to be the first to show...

The guy that voices bumblebee? How is that possible when bumblebee talks through the radio using other people's voices??? Anyway, to the guy that asked "what is a prequel?", first of all... WOW.... Secondly, it's when a movie is made, and then another movie is made after it that is set with the same characters, or just in the same place as the first movie, except it's set back in time, not forward. As in Star Wars Episode I was made in 1999, but was still set way before Star Wars Episode IV which was made in 1977... Get it???

this movie just surprised me every step of the way. i was afraid it would be horrible. but i was wrong. the action was non stop. i cant wait to see the second.

That would be AWSOME. If its a prequel or a sequel it don't matter to me. I was miffed by some of the changes but the movie over shot my expectaions. Some of the jokes in it are just for fans so keep it up in the next ones. A prequel would show just how they got there and the sequel would be great to introduce more autobots and decepticons. Soundwave needs to make an apperance I think, just lets not have the whiney Hot Rod, please, my stomach can not take more of him. Good job on the first movie and can't wait to see the next ones, and there will be more. I can tell.

I'm down for a sequel, prequel or whatever. Maybe they'll bring out some dinobots or possibly soundwave.

thats funny that people are sooo hyped about the movie because the sequel does bring about megatron. i don't remember exactly but i'm almost certain that some dumbass gets the need to raise megatron from the dead. and not to mention there are a ton of autobots that have yet to make their appearance. so the next one will be great!!! thank goodness spielberg chose michael bay for this movie, he did an amazing job!!!

i just just saw it tonight.....and it RULED!!!!!omg i was laughing so much at the names of the robots!!!i dont know why but i did and it was halarious and action packed and ya......i am SOOOO happy they are making another one!!!yay!!

ok, so they're doing a prequel and a sequel.. thats cool. i just thought they'd do a sequel because the ending was set up perfectly for more decepticons to come, cause starstream got away.. and i'm not too sure megatron is dead i mean in the show nothing was ever sure, and i want to see more MEGATRON. in the theatre i was like "kill all the humans!"

uummm, how can you NOT know what a Prequel is????
they've been around since as long as I can remember and even if you've never heard the term before the name alone should imply it's meaning, I mean you know what a Sequel is so a person should gather in their brain that a prequel has to be a second movie that happend pre {before} the first movie.

Yes indeed they did make the prequel in comic book form and it IS continuity.

I think that they will either go back to the "origin" of the Transformers before the comic prequel, or they will chronicle the great war in more detail.

If Michael Bay does it then it won't matter, because it won't have a story.
