Homer Simpson upsets Pagan's

Posted by SuperWill70 374 days ago
Pagans have pledged to perform "rain magic" to wash away a cartoon character painted next to their famous fertility symbol - the Cerne Abbas giant.
A doughnut-brandishing Homer Simpson was painted next to the giant on the hill above Cerne Abbas, Dorset, to promote the new Simpsons film.

Who said I was a Pagan, blow-hard?

I just said its 'fair game to joke about it in a movie', but you seemed to ignore the posts left by others before me (insulting Paganism - an entire religion).

Have fun preaching your 'higher than thou' material in church.

You gotta be kidding me. Homer is very clearly on a different section of field and far enough from the fertility symbol that he won't even affect energy. There is nothing more that pisses me off than "poor me" pagans. Yes we want better representations of ourselves in the media, but mostly I've seen insane nitpicking on the stupidest inconsequential garbage, like going off on "the craft" and "charmed" Those are fantasise people---one Fairuza Balk(The Craft) is pagan----2 "Charmed" puts us in a good light...3: It is very clear that Homer is raising his donut in supplication to the fertility god. My God---you really think a bunch of ad agency workers would do somethin purposely to piss off people that would be spending money to see their film?? It was probably done in an attempt to bring more nature religionists to the film, if it was done for any other reason than they thought it would look cool. It's an ad agency stunt and people need to lighten up--now hush before I send Hecate out.

Amokster is right, everything is fair game in the simpsons ESPECIALLY their first movie ever that is how many years in the making.

I don't think they intended for people to start fighting each other over it though.

Thanks for Jonny090's comment/insult.
Confusing the argument doesn't make your point valid, Dan Brown reference aside.
There were exponential numbers of Pagans killed, much more than your claimed '30'.
Research religions (who came first) and you just might understand a little better than your 18 years has accumulated so far.

Picking on 'em is fair game for a movie, but don't get hurtful.

Christians, Athiests, Mormons, etc. get bashed all the damn time. Why not the fun loving Pagans? I say, go for it, otherwise it'll be like the PC police in Equilibrium--an OK movie. Either everything is fair game or it isn't. No in-betweens. Shittles, a donut sounds really good right now. Damn you, Homer!

It's mean that they would offend a civilization. It's sad that the Simpsons crew would do that to a group of people.
