Jason Isaacs Talks "Harry Potter 6"

Jason Isaacs, who plays the role of wizard Lucius Malfoy in the "Harry Potter" franchise, is upset that he won't be joining the rest of the cast in the sixth installment. His character is absent from "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince," which is due to start filming later this year, to be released in 2008.

"Heartbreakingly Lucius is not in the sixth Harry Potter book," he said. "He's in prison all the way through."

Back in January, Isaacs did a similar interview, discussing his role in "Order of the Phoenix." In that interview, knowing that he doesn't appear in the sixth book, he had the chance to meet author J.K. Rowling and appealed to her to include him in the seventh one. "I fell to my knees and begged," he joked.

Now that we are only days from finding out the conclusion to "Harry Potter," Isaacs added: "This Friday night when the last book comes out, I will be elbowing children out of the way to find out if I'm in number seven."

    Lucius was always one of my favorite death eaters,because of the cool slytherin snake cane kind've the yang to godric gryffindor's sword's ying.

    I thought he was always dark and cynical
    and had that awesome long bleached blonde hair,
    and that the fact he was a death eater made him even more interesting,including the fact that draco's two friends crabb and goyle were death eaters too.


    hopefully he'll get a part in the 7th movie.

    I agree with you. He's the one so vocal about being in the movie or wanting to be in the movie. And it's not like this franchise is the only one he's doing currently. Definitely a Potterhead!

  • It's kind of weird without Malfoy. We all need to hate a bad guy thats not invinceable. Lets all hope he's in it. We've all come to hate him anyway. One more book of hate will do us all good.

  • If i had kids and i acted in harry potter i wud do the same:Pbut tht sucks that he cant be in the nxt one:( im totally not happy.
    mah friend used to joke that he was not infact Lucius Malfoy but Lushious Mouthful...Hahaha i preferr Draco of course..

  • Gotta love that guy. And for some reason, I can see him doing just what he "threatened" :P

    I hope we will see him in the final part, too. He is a great character (even if I haven't read the books yet) and definitely deserves more time on screen.
