"Step Up 2" Begins Monday
"Step Up 2 the Streets," the sequel to Touchstone Pictures' "Step Up," has announced its cast for the film. Briana Evigan, Robert Hoffman (You Got Served), Telisha Shaw and Adam G. Sevani will star, along with singer-model-actress Cassie, who will sing a song featured in the film and on the soundtrack.
Jon Chu will direct the sequel to the coming-of-age dance film. Set at the Maryland School of the Arts, the story follows revolves around dance student Patrick (Hoffman) and rebellious new student Andie (Evigan).
The original "Step Up," directed by Anne Fletcher and starring Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, grossed more than $65 million domestically and more than $50 million internationally last year.
Principal photography on "Step Up 2" begins Monday in Baltimore.
