People do not try to commit suicide for attention!!! Hello, they need help and you were not there so you do not know the circumstances! I for one am glad he did not succeed and to call it a publicity stunt is ludicriuos! You do not try to kill yourself for the publicity!!!! He needs help!

i hope everything turns out ok because owen wilson is a good person. and i dont believe it was a celebrity stunt because he doesnt need 2 do that, he is a huge star. and it is a huge shocker that he would do something like that. i just hope he gets better real soon and will solve any problems he is having.

I am shocked, but I understand. Money doesn't buy happiness and life is full of challenges we can't deal with. I have attempted suicide twice now and both times have been brought back. It is very aggrevating to get up the nerve to do it, only to have it ruined by family or the medical world. The aftermath is very difficult too. So, Owen, please know you are not alone and I respect your rights and requests to privacy during this very trying time! We love you!

This life style of the expectations to be great after getting famous can take you down a road that you cant recover from. Look at the famous comedians that were so "tired" of the life style they did drugs to the point they died. Owen is no different from john bulushi and river pheonix and Chris Farley.

My family's prayers go out to him. I just wanted to comment that when you are desperate to end the thoughts that run through your mind saying you should be dead and it would be easier... him taking the pills and slicing his wrist was the "IT WILL GO QUICKER" method if the pills dont get me the bleeding out will could have been his thought pattern.

I know this comment is long but its important to know that Suicide is a PERMANENT SOLUTION to a temporary problem. IT DOESNT HELP THE ONES WE LEAVE BEHIND. GET HELP if you think of dying at all.

It just goes to show that you never know when someone is hurting on the inside. I really hope he heals quickly and has a lot of support to help him. I must say... I am glad he was not successful. I think he gives people a lot more joy with his movies and talents than he knows.

I don't mean to be an asshole but....Owen Wilson is a great actor and I can't remember a movie where he wasn't great but....I don't care what kind of depression issues he is going through his suicide attempt was a very cowardly and overly-dramatic decision. His life may be tough...but how tough can his life really be....honestly.....he's blessed.....handsome.....wealthy....and talented! How depressed must u be? I don't care if he has no friends or companions (which he does....PLENTY) there are a billions people who are way worst position than he is....this suicide attempt was a very selfish act, and its just a cry for help...

It's just so sad that he felt he had nothing left to live for. I'm always amazed how many comedians have really sad lives.

i do hope he gets better but then it is unbelievable he can do something so stupid, its unlike him at all.

None of that has been confirmed, so for all you know he may have slipped in the shower and banged his head. The paparazzi and media should just leave the poor man alone, has non-one learnt anything by the tragic death of Princess Diana?! I just hope and pray that he overcomes the depression that he is going through.. A friend once said you have to smil through the pain.. And I guess for comdians you have to laugh through it but for some the pain is just too great.. I pray he gets help!!

The funniest people seem to have the most tragic private lives. I hope that Owen can pull it together and get the help he obviously needs. He has such a gift and his career is soaring. Guess this proves the old adage that money and fame ain't everything...

I heard it this morning on the news. It's a shame. His brother was the one who found him and then called 911. This could happen to anyone especially celebs like Wilson with the media always watching your every move and your private life always broadcast nationwide.

If this is a true account, how very very very sad. Is there NOTHING more precious than DEATH????? The decision to take ones life; I don't believe is spontaneous. I believe you would have to plan it. If I use this method, I'm gone for sure "quick-fast-n-in-a-hurry" no return..done.
If I use that method, there's hope that someone/anyone will find me in time. Giving me another chance to overcome whatever the issue was that brought me to this crossroad in the first place...
