That sucks, this guy is pretty good looking and is at the top of his career. It just show us that money dosen't always bring happiness and fix problems, I feel for him and hopes he never goes through with it if he ever tries again :-(

it is amazing how a great actor and with so much fame can go through such a tragedy of atempting suicide, wich tells yoiu that with all the money he has, he is still unhappy in his life...money does not buy everything, such as love and happiness...I really like him and happy that he didn't die, so hopefully he doesn't try it again for God's sake....

i hope owen has a quick rewcovery although that is probably far from the truth from someone who has had his problem before, its the worst place you can be in your life to want to end it all i hope he does recover and wish him well in his recovery

This shows that the Media gets into the celebrets / peoples private life too much. Highest of examples... Princess Diana. Had the media let her be. and not follow in such high speeds. That wouldn't of cause the driver to lose control. Even with having some liquir in his system. Besides, if the driver was that druck the Hotel would of not allowed him to drive. and would of been just as reponisble.

I love his movies. most of them anyway..

does anyone realize he was in character, planning to play a guy who botched a suicide attempt. and maybe he took it too far. the character he was gonna play was along the same lines as steve carrels character in little miss sunshine, with bandaged wrists and all. maybe hes a method actor who really gets into his roles and feels embarrased about the whole thing.

i feel really bad,i have been through exactly what he has tried to do and it isn't what you think it is.

I feel bad for him because I know what it is like to be famous, it has a lot of pressure I must say and yet many people may not know it because we as citizens may think that being famous is cool just like not having been experienced with a violent attack before. I hope Owen Wilson gets better and hope that he knows how to cope or to help himself out after this tragedy.

Allot of famous people cannot handle the "limelight". He is feeling pressure and isolation because he is an actor. I feel sorry for him, truly. I hope he gets better and gets the mental health help he needs.

Owen Wilson is my favorite comedian! I was so sad when I heard about this! I didn't want to believe it but I had to. I hope he gets better and lives to have a full and happy life!

Maybe I don't get it because I have never really been that depressed, but how can anyone want to end their life??!! and over what??!! what is so drastic that it requires anyone to put a bullet in their head or a blade to their wrists??!! My prayers are with Owen Wilson and his family. Suicide attempts are a cry for help and I hope he gets the proper help and Dx. He has a long road ahead to get well, he must summit to GOD and love himself.

To the media and others who aren't respecting his wishes to heal in private, get a life!! Instead, read a book about mental / chemical disorders. It might help you save a life instead of destroying one.

I read a few comments on here about people mentioning his status and finance. Grow up!! At the end of any day no matter what career or whatever amount of money one has, you are a human being first and a child of God. We all have issues and as a society we should help one another instead of destroying.

Try putting yourself in someones elses shoes before you judge them. We as humans can never judge since no one is perfect....

I have been a widow for almost 5 months and a suicide survivor. My husband is at peace and isn't going to hell. The hell was in his mind for 36 years.

The people who had negative things to say about Owen Wilson should be ashamed of themselves. Being a nurse in an ICU, I've seen a lot of bad things. Suicide is nothing to make fun of. Yes, I agree that he does need help and I'm sure he will get some. But he doesn't need people berating him just because he is an actor or has money. He is a human being. I hope he makes a full recovery.

Even in a world of money and fame and parties...it must be empty and lonely without real love and trying to find friends who like you for YOU. He strikes me as being someone who would fall hard. Has he ever been in love before? He probably gave his whole heart which was shattered in the breakup. Ahhh...to experience that intense feeling again.

I hope he rests and heals and comes out to share more of his talent with the world...

Speaking from experience, I'm sure all of your comments about his stupidity are really helping Owen through. As for it being over Kate, you don't know that for sure it was probably a factor but it's never over just one thing; there are a billion things in his life that could have contributed to his actions.
He could obviously hide his feelings well, he's an amazing actor, yes, but if an ordinary person can hide it for 15 years, what could he do. I hope he gets well & his family can get through this tough time. It won't be an overnight fix, not for Owen or his family. They may not get over it at all... this guy is hurting, and whatever effects that may have contributed to that, may NEVER abate.

okay, you know what? why is everyone SO into "celebrities"? Why can't he just have time to recover quietly instead of everyone talking crap. Everyone goes through this. Its not an abnormal thing. For all who are suffering through depression - not just celebrities - there is help. Don't give up. Someone out there does love you. Life IS worth living, and suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
