I was fortunate enough to have heard him sing live back in 1999. It was one of the greatest experiences in my life. The world is a sadder place today without him.
    Arrivederci, Maestro.

  • Luciano Pavarotti was my favorite tenor. I listened to his music for the longest time. I have listened to the cd The Three Tenors which featured Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo & Jose Carreras, so many times just to hear Luciano Pavarotti's Beautiful and Angelic voice singing Nessum Dorma! [From Turandot]. But this morning when I turned on the tv just to find out that he had died, it totally broke my heart. I actually had tears in my eyes as I watched them replay moments in his life, and a part of me believes that he died too soon. According to the news, he was recognized as being one of the many people who singlehandedly help introduce Opera to the a younger audience and I believe that. With his death at the age of 71, which in my opinion is way to young to die, he has left a everlasting impression on me. I see Opera in a different light and its totally because of him. He will be greatly missed by all who ever heard him sing live and by all those who have ever heard him sing on Cd.
